Simple polyol route to synthesize heptanoic acid coated magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles
Materials Research Bulletin, 2013Abstract Magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles were prepared via polyol method by using FeCl2 as only source of iron. As-prepared samples were characterized by powder X-ray diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermal gravimetric analyzer (TGA) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM ...

Extraction of manganese(II) from ammonium chloride solutions with heptanoic acid
Hydrometallurgy, 1989Abstract The distribution of Mn(II) between aqueous 1.0 M NH4Cl solution and heptanoic acid solutions in carbon tetrachloride was studied. Regression analysis methods were used to determine the species present in the organic phase. It has been established that the composition of these species depends on the total manganese(II) concentration in the ...

Stability of a Surface Adlayer at Elevated Temperature: Coronene and Heptanoic Acid on Au(111)
The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2008The temperature dependence of the stability of the adlayer formed at the interface between Au(111) and a coronene-heptanoic acid solution is reported. At coronene concentrations above 1.5 x 10 -4 M and at 21 °C, a dense coronene adlayer is observed.

In the normal heart, there is loss of citric acid cycle (CAC) intermediates that is matched by the entry of intermediates from outside the cycle, a process termed anaplerosis. Previous in vitro studies suggest that supplementation with anaplerotic substrates improves cardiac function during myocardial ischemia and/or reperfusion.

A practical synthesis of 3(S)-methyl-heptanoic acid from (S)-citronellol
Tetrahedron: Asymmetry, 1996Abstract Chiral 3-methyl-heptanoic acid is readily accessible by functional group manipulation of optically active citronellol. In principle, this approach is general and could be applied to the synthesis of chiral 3-methyl-alkanoic acids seven carbon atoms in length and longer.

Influence of Sn Promoter on Pd and Pt Catalysts for the Conversion of Heptanoic Acid and Propane
2018Silica-supported Pd catalysts can be used to selectively remove oxygen from biomass-derived carboxylic acids through decarbonylation. This work aims to improve Pd catalyst stability and selectivity towards desirable products by varying metal particle size as well as by introducing Sn to the catalyst. Catalysts were prepared by ion exchange or incipient
