Medicinal Pasta Alleviates Oxidative Stress and Metabolic Complications in Diabetic Rats
Composite ratio mixture of wheat, unripe plantain and moringa flours used to produce pasta modulated lipid profile, related glucose metabolic enzymes, and antioxidant in diabetic rats. ABSTRACT Medicinal plant‐based foods from natural sources with antioxidant properties, cholesterol, blood glucose, and blood pressure reducing properties are rarely ...

Disentangling the strength and importance of barriers to reproduction that arise between diverging lineages is central to our understanding of species origin and maintenance. To date, the vast majority of studies investigating the importance of different

I have become fascinated by herbaria, collections of dried plant specimens. Like many new loves, this one began rather suddenly. Yes, I had known about them for years and had even been to a symposium on virtual herbaria, but I hardly ever gave them a thought.

Enriched biodiversity data as a resource and service [PDF]
Background: Recent years have seen a surge in projects that produce large volumes of structured, machine-readable biodiversity data. To make these data amenable to processing by generic, open source “data enrichment” workflows, they are increasingly ...

The underutilized parts viz: pawpaw seed, banana, plantain, and potato peels showed promising antioxidant and inhibition of α‐amylase and α‐glucosidase activities (IC50 values ≤ 100 μg/mL). Similarly, pawpaw seed, banana, plantain, and potato peels reduced postprandial hyperglycemia in sucrose‐ and maltose‐induced hyperglycemia in rats.

Tropical component of the moss Flora of China [PDF]
In many ways, it is presumptuous for me to speak on the mosses of the tropical regions of China. Many consider the knowledge about the taxonomy, ecology, and geography of tropical bryophytes inadequate (Pócs 1982; Schuster 1983; Richards 1984), and this ...

Incorporating molecular data in fungal systematics: a guide for aspiring researchers
The last twenty years have witnessed molecular data emerge as a primary research instrument in most branches of mycology. Fungal systematics, taxonomy, and ecology have all seen tremendous progress and have undergone rapid, far-reaching changes as ...

Combination of the Leptadenia hastata leaf and the Syzygium aromaticum bud demonstrated hypolipidemic and antioxidant activities in a hyperlipidemic rat model. Combination of the two plants inhibited HMG‐CoA reductase activity, and the docking analysis revealed interacted well and formed binding complexes within the binding pocket of the enzyme ...
