A method of mounting herbarium specimens

Summary A method of mounting pressed herbarium specimens using liquid plastic and stacking the sheets white drying is described. This has been developed and found convenient where several technical assistants are mounting material from widely different plant groups, at limited bench space.

During the past several years I have been involved in research on the tree fern genus Cnemidaria (Cyatheaceae). Although nearly 2,000 specimens have been available to me for examination, a startling number of these have been partially or totally inadequate for purposes of classification. A small number are of questionable value even for identification.
