Measurement of the W+W− production cross section in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of s=13 TeV with the ATLAS experiment

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2017
The production of opposite-charge W-boson pairs in proton–proton collisions at s=13 TeV is measured using data corresponding to 3.16 fb−1 of integrated luminosity collected by the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider in 2015.

Transverse momentum, rapidity, and centrality dependence of inclusive charged-particle production in sNN=5.02 TeV p+Pb collisions measured by the ATLAS experiment

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2016
Measurements of the per-event charged-particle yield as a function of the charged-particle transverse momentum and rapidity are performed using p+Pb collision data collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC at a centre-of-mass energy of sNN=5.02TeV ...

Patient‐reported outcomes, postoperative pain and pain relief after day‐case surgery (POPPY): baseline data from day surgery practice in the UK

open access: yesAnaesthesia, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 477-488, April 2026.
Summary Introduction Most patients undergoing elective surgery in the UK are discharged from hospital on the same day. Despite this, there is a lack of UK patient‐centred outcome measures relating to quality of recovery, pain and analgesic use. The POPPY study was a UK‐wide prospective, observational study measuring short‐ and longer‐term patient ...

BepiColombo cruise science: overview of the mission contribution to heliophysics

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space
BepiColombo, the joint ESA/JAXA mission to Mercury, was launched in October 2018 and is scheduled to arrive at Mercury in November 2026 after an 8-year cruise. Like other planetary missions, its scientific objectives focus mostly on the nominal, orbiting

Search for heavy long-lived charged R-hadrons with the ATLAS detector in 3.2 fb−1 of proton–proton collision data at s=13 TeV

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2016
A search for heavy long-lived charged R-hadrons is reported using a data sample corresponding to 3.2 fb−1 of proton–proton collisions at s=13 TeV collected by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.

Patient‐reported outcomes, postoperative pain and pain relief after day‐case surgery (POPPY): chronic post‐surgical pain prevalence and associations*

open access: yesAnaesthesia, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 489-499, April 2026.
Summary Introduction Day‐case surgical activity is increasing in the UK yet there is a lack of data on the prevalence of chronic post‐surgical pain in this population. This study uses data from the POPPY study to estimate the prevalence of chronic post‐surgical pain after day‐case surgery, its relationship with quality of life and also explores ...
