Post-emergent herbicidal activity of cineole derivatives [PDF]
Essential oils are being investigated as potential herbicides or to provide leads to new environmentally and socially acceptable herbicides. Novel hydroxy and ester derivatives of 1,8-cineole and 1,4-cineole were synthesised, by chemical and biological ...

Synthesis and Biological activity of 4-(4,6-Disubstituted-pyrimidin-2-yloxy)phenoxy Acetates
Ten novel 4-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yloxy)phenoxy acetates and 4-(4,6-dimethylpyrimidin-2-yloxy)phenoxy acetates were synthesized with hydroquinone, 2-methylsulfonyl-4,6-disubstituted-pyrimidine and chloroacetic ester as starting materials.

The continuing significance of chiral agrochemicals
In the time frame 2018–2023, around 43% of the 35 chiral agrochemicals introduced to the market (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, and nematicides) contain one or more stereogenic centers in the molecule, and almost 69% of them have been marketed as racemic mixtures of enantiomers or stereoisomers.

Environmental pollution and water scarcity demand innovative purification methods. This study presents a sol‐gel approach to fabricate mixed silica–titania thin films joining photocatalytic activity with selective sorption capability. The films exhibit higher surface area, enhanced degradation of cationic and improved performance over bare titania ...

Cyanoacrylates. Herbicidal and photosynthetic inhibitory activity.
Various alkyl 3-phenylamino-2-cyano-and 2-ethoxycarbonylacrylates and 3-phenylamino-2-cyanoacrylonitriles were synthesized and assayed as inhibitors of the Hill reaction in isolated pea chloroplast suspensions and as pre-and post-emergent herbicides on mustard and barnyard grass.

ABSTRACT Ascidians are invertebrates that occupy a key phylogenetic position as a sister group of the vertebrates. The organization of their central nervous system (CNS), with cortex and medulla, indicates a plesiomorphic character of the gray and white matter of vertebrates, making this group of animals useful for studies of neurodegenerative events ...

Preparation and bioactivity of 1,8-cineole derivatives [PDF]
The naturally occurring monoterpene 1,3,3-trimethyl-2-oxabicyclo[2.2.2]octane 1, commonly named 1,8-cineole and the major component in the leaf oil of many eucalypts, exhibits bioactivity, being potentially antimicrobial and pesticidal.

Deciphering Role of Endophytes in Plant Defences and Biotic Stress Resilience Across Families
ABSTRACT Plant families generate distinct repertoires of specialised metabolites that govern their biotic interactions. Endophytes strengthen host plant defence mechanisms and tolerance to biotic challenges by upregulating metabolite biosynthesis, modifying precursor compounds into more potent forms, or by directly synthesising analogous defence ...
