Infection of the ACH-2 line of human leukemic T cells carrying latent Human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV-1) with Human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) resulted in an increase in reverse transcriptase (RT) activity, a marker of HIV-1 activation, in the culture supernatant.
