2′,5′ Oligoadenylate Synthetase Activity in Bovine Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells Following Bovine Herpesvirus Type-1-Induced Respiratory Disease: A Prognostic Indicator?

Journal of Interferon Research, 1989
Following aerosol-challenge of nonimmune calves with bovine herpesvirus type-1 (BHV-1) the levels of 2',5' oligoadenylate (2-5A) synthetase in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBML) increased significantly to peak 4-5 days after BHV-1 infection. This corresponded temporally to the period of highest susceptibility to secondary bacterial infection ...

[Histological and ultrastructural changes in calves infected with bovine herpesvirus 2].

Veterinarno-meditsinski nauki, 1981
We studied the hide, neck knots, as well as the liver of calves infected intradermally with strain KOS-Haskovo of Bovid Herpes Virus 2. On the spot of the injection we found necrotic changes in the superficial strata of the epidermis, hydropic distrophy of St.

[Cytological and histochemical studies on cell cultures infected with bovine herpesvirus type 2].

Archiv fur experimentelle Veterinarmedizin, 1976
Cell cultures of embryonic calf kidney which had been infected with bovid herpes virus 2 were examined for cytological and histochemical changes. The morphological changes recorded from cells damaged by virus infection included the formation of gigant syncytial cells and intranuclear inclusions of Cowdry Type A.

Influence of 2, 3, 7, 8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin on Bovine Herpesvirus 1 Replication

2014
Abstract Bovine herpesvirus 1 (BHV-1) is a cattle pathogen that can provoke infectoius bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR), conjunctivitis, abortions and shipping fever. 2, 3, 7, 8-Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) is a persistent environmental contamination, which suppresses immune responses and decreases host resistance to infectious disease. Following BHV-
