Bortezomib promotes KHSV and EBV lytic cycle by activating JNK and autophagy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
KSHV and EBV are gammaherpesviruses strictly linked to human cancers. Even if the majority of cancer cells harbor a latent infection, the few cells that undergo viral replication may contribute to the pathogenesis and maintenance of the virus-associated ...

Ultrastructural analysis of sequential cyprinid herpesvirus 3 morphogenesis in vitro [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, 2016
AbstractCyprinid herpesvirus 3 (CyHV‐3) is an alloherpesvirus, and it is the aetiological agent of koi herpesvirus disease. Although the complex morphogenic stages of the replication cycle of CyHV‐3 were shown to resemble that of other members of the Herpesvirales, detailed analysis of the sequence and timing of these events was not definitively ...

Isolated Pleural Effusion as Presentation of a Large B‐Cell Lymphoma: A Case Report and Diagnostic Considerations

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
A 79‐year‐old man presented with massive pleural effusion in which cytological examination revealed lymphoma cells without evidence of a solid tumor mass. Negative EBV in situ hybridization and negative HHV8 and HIV testing, combined with flow cytometric immunophenotyping and molecular findings, supported a diagnosis of fluid overload–associated large ...
