An analysis of heterogeneous cooperative algorithms

2009 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation, 2009
Most optimization algorithms suffer from a significant deterioration in performance as the dimensionality and complexity of the problem search space increases. Also these algorithms, given certain configurations, typically show markedly improved performance on a particular problem only to exhibit poor performance on another.

Heterogeneity and Skewness in Analysis of Variance

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1963
Several power functions were computed to determine the influence of violations of assumptions on the analysis of variance. For each analysis two groups of 10 scores each were randomly selected from a normally distributed population of 10,000 cases. In all cases each of the several points on the power curves was determined by the percentage of rejected ...

Analysis of Heterogeneity Characteristics for Heterogeneous WSNs

2018
Heterogeneity aims to prolong the effective lifetime of WSNs. A network becomes energy heterogeneous when nodes with dissimilar initial energy are deployed. Energy heterogeneity of a WSN is represented by two heterogeneity characteristics- fraction of heterogeneous nodes and additional energy factor between nodes at different energy levels.

Spatial Heterogeneity in Crime Analysis

CrimRxiv, 2012
Issues related to the modifiable areal unit problem are well-understood within geography. Though these issues are acknowledged in the spatial crime analysis literature, there is little research that assesses their impact. In fact, much of the cited spatial crime analysis literature that investigates the impact of modified areal units suggests that ...

An analysis of repeated sequence heterogeneity

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1984
High-resolution thermal denaturation was used to measure the heterogeneity within repeated DNA sequences. An analysis of combined denaturation/redenaturation experiments on mouse satellite DNA suggests the existence of two minor components, one of which does not appear in the prepared EcoRII monomer.

Visual Analysis of Heterogeneous Networks

2013 European Intelligence and Security Informatics Conference, 2013
Most real-life networks are not only massive but also highly heterogeneous, involving more than one type of entity, more than one type of relationship, and multiple attributes associated with both entities and relationships. Many of the existing methods and tools don't take into account these additional modalities that make networks highly heterogenous

The Analysis of Heterogeneous Mortality Data

Journal of the Institute of Actuaries, 1948
In this paper, everyday actuarial data have been examined by means of standard statistical techniques. The data in question have been drawn from the publications of the Continuous Mortality Investigation Committee, and the methods of statistical analysis have been applied to investigate the nature and extent of the heterogeneity which may exist in ...

Analysis of Heterogeneous Anisotropic Plates

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1969
Using the basic assumptions of thin-plate theory, including nonlinear terms in the von Karman sense, the governing equations of a laminated anisotropic plate are formulated. In particular, the type of plate under discussion consists of n layers of orthotropic sheets bonded together.

Analysis and Design of Synchronization for Heterogeneous Network

IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, 2018
In this paper, we investigate the synchronization for heterogeneous network subject to event-triggering communication. The designed controller for each node includes reference generator (RG) and regulator. The predicted value of relative information between intermittent communication can significantly reduce the transmitted information.
