Porous Nanocrystalline Silicon Supported Bimetallic Pd-Au Catalysts: Preparation, Characterization, and Direct Hydrogen Peroxide Synthesis

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2018
Bimetallic Pd-Au catalysts were prepared on the porous nanocrystalline silicon (PSi) for the first time. The catalysts were tested in the reaction of direct hydrogen peroxide synthesis and characterized by standard structural and chemical techniques.

Controlling the optical properties of nanostructured oxide-based polymer films

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
A bulk scale process is implemented for the production of nanostructured film composites comprising unary or multi-component metal oxide nanoparticles dispersed in a suitable polymer matrix.

Transfer hydrogenation of methyl levulinate with methanol to gamma valerolactone over Cu-ZrO2: A sustainable approach to liquid fuels

open access: yesCatalysis Communications, 2022
Cu-ZrO2 is demonstrated to be a highly effective catalyst for the transfer hydrogenation of methyl levulinate to γ-valerolactone, using methanol as the hydrogen donor.

Zeolite-β based molecular sieves: A potential catalyst for esterification of biomass derived model compound levulinic acid

open access: yesMaterials Science for Energy Technologies, 2021
A series of hetero ions (iron, boron, gallium, titanium, and zinc [Fe3+, B3+, Ga3+, Ti4+, and Zn2+, respectively) incorporated zeolite-β is prepared via a simple hydrothermal method within 48 h at 170 °C.

Heterogeneous Pd catalysts as emulsifiers in Pickering emulsions for integrated multistep synthesis in flow chemistry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Within the “Compartmentalised Smart Factory” approach of the ONE-FLOW project the implementation of different catalysts in “compartments” provided by Pickering emulsions and their application in continuous flow is targeted.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Recycling Of Carbone Oxides (Co, Co2) Conversion Into Methanol At Atmospheric Pressure Over Mechanochemical Achtivated Cuo-zno-al2o3 Catalyst [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The catalytic process for methanol production by synthesis gas conversion under the conditions of mechanochemical activation (MCA) of copper-zinc-aluminum oxide catalyst in the temperature range 160–280 °C at a pressure of 0.1 MPa are investigated.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Iron‑chromium mixed metal oxides catalyse the oxidative dehydrogenation of propane using carbon dioxide

open access: yesCatalysis Communications, 2022
The oxidative dehydrogenation of propane to propene using carbon dioxide is an attractive novel synthesis route to produce a key platform chemical. We investigated iron-chromia catalysts prepared by sol-gel.

Global Strong Solutions for a Class of Heterogeneous Catalysis Models

open access: yes, 2016
We consider a mathematical model for heterogeneous catalysis in a finite three-dimensional pore of cylinder-like geometry, with the lateral walls acting as a catalytic surface.
