SON Mechanism for Green Heterogeneous Cellular Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Alternative energies are a good option to face the growing demand of energy consumption in the present and future telecommunications systems, particularly in the next generation cellular systems, where a significant increase in the number of nodes is expected.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Large-Scale Spatial Distribution Identification of Base Stations in Cellular Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2015
The performance of cellular system significantly depends on its network topology, while cellular networks are undergoing a heterogeneous evolution. This promising trend introduces the unplanned deployment of smaller base stations (BSs), thus complicating

Partial Interference Alignment for Heterogeneous Cellular Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
The deployment of small cell base stations (BSs) can efficiently boost the network capacity. Cross-tier interference management is critical for the performance enhancement in such heterogeneous networks. Interference alignment provides an efficient way to achieve optimal degree-of-freedom in interference channels. However, it is not necessarily optimal

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Interference Management in Heterogeneous Cellular Networks

open access: yes, 2016
Heterogeneous cellular networks (HetNets), comprising one or more tiers of small base stations (BSs) overlaid on the tier of well-planned macro BSs, have been commonly recognized as a cost-effective solution to cater to explosive demands on mobile data traffic. However, HetNets also bring some unique challenges such as unplanned deployment of small BSs

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Economics of intelligent selection of wireless access networks in a market-based framework : a game-theoretic approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The Digital Marketplace is a market-based framework where network operators offer communications services with competition at the call level. It strives to address a tussle between the actors involved in a heterogeneous wireless access network.

Multi-Way Relaying Techniques for Heterogeneous Cooperative Wireless Network: From Theory to Practice

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2015
A heterogeneous network integration scheme based on cooperative relay technology was proposed, then the foundation of heterogeneous network was conceived through the relay node, with the aim to solve the transmission bottleneck between heterogeneous ...

Investigation of Open‐Loop Transmit Power Control Parameters for Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Small‐Cell Uplinks

open access: yesETRI Journal, 2018
In Long Term Evolution (LTE) cellular networks, the transmit power control (TPC) mechanism consists of two parts: the open loop (OL) and closed loop. Most cellular networks consider OL/TPC because of its simple implementation and low operation cost.
