Two-domain description of solute transport in heterogeneous porous media: Comparison between theoretical predictions and numerical experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper deals with two-equation models describing solute transport in highly heterogeneous porous systems and more particularly dual permeability structures composed of high- and low-permeability regions.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Control of turbulence in heterogeneous excitable media

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2012
Control of turbulence in two kinds of typical heterogeneous excitable media by applying a combined method is investigated. It is found that local-low-amplitude and high-frequency pacing (LHP) is effective to suppress turbulence if the deviation of the heterogeneity is minor. However, LHP is invalid when the deviation is large.

Automated FRAP microscopy for high‐throughput analysis of protein dynamics in chromatin organization and transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoboMic is an automated confocal microscopy pipeline for high‐throughput functional imaging in living cells. Demonstrated with fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP), it integrates AI‐driven nuclear segmentation, ROI selection, bleaching, and analysis.

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Bounding of Flow and Transport Analysis in Heterogeneous Saturated Porous Media: A Minimum Energy Dissipation Principle for the Bounding and Scale-Up

open access: yesHydrology, 2019
We apply minimum kinetic energy principles from classic mechanics to heterogeneous porous media flow equations to derive and evaluate rotational flow components to determine bounding homogenous representations.
