A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

An Improved Method for Reconstructing the Digital Core Model of Heterogeneous Porous Media

open access: yes, 2018
The heterogeneous pore space of porous media strongly affects the storage and migration of oil and gas in the reservoir. In this paper, the cross-correlation-based simulation (CCSIM) is combined with the three-step sample method to reconstruct ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Time domain random walks for hydrodynamic transport in heterogeneous media

open access: yes, 2016
International audienceWe derive a general formulation of the time domain random walk (TDRW) approach to model the hydrodynamic transport of inert solutes in complex geometries and heterogeneous media.

Estimation of the Effective Permeability of Heterogeneous Porous Media by Using Percolation Concepts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper we present new methods to estimate the effective permeability (k_eff) of heterogeneous porous media with a wide distribution of permeabilities and various underlying structures, using percolation concepts.

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Stochastic Lattice Model of Aggregation in Heterogeneous Polydisperse Media

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2017
The submitted paper proposes a new model algorithmic approach to describing aggregation processes, which is based on mathematical tool of a random walk over mathematical lattices. Such approach agrees as a whole with the DES paradigm.
