A Model for Simultaneous Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Nucleation
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1998A modified cell-model is proposed to describe the process of simultaneous homogeneous and heterogeneous nucleation. The modification consists in considering that the seed particles are randomly distributed in the system and in assuming that homogeneous nucleation can only occur in those places where the interparticle distance is large.

Heterogeneous Nucleation in Droplet-Based Nucleation Measurements
Crystal Growth & Design, 2013Droplet-based nucleation experiments reveal discrepancies in kinetic and thermodynamic factors. Here we examine how the chemical nature of the water–oil interface, and not the type of the device, used in different set-ups by three different groups impacts nucleation rate and explain discrepancies among lysozyme interfacial energies and pre-exponential ...

The molecular approach to heterogeneous nucleation
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2005A molecular approach to heterogeneous nucleation has been developed. The expressions for the equilibrium cluster distribution, the reversible work of the cluster formation, and the nucleation rate have been derived. Two separate statements for the work of formation were formulated.

Heterogeneous nucleation or homogeneous nucleation?
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2000The generic heterogeneous effect of foreign particles on three dimensional nucleation was examined both theoretically and experimentally. It shows that the nucleation observed under normal conditions includes a sequence of progressive heterogeneous processes, characterized by different interfacial correlation function f(m,x)s.

Heterogeneous nucleation of diamond
Czechoslovak Journal of Physics, 1997We present theoretical study of the formation of diamond clusters on the non-diamond substrate. This phenomenon is modelled at the kinetic level and described by the Fokker-Planck-like equation governing the evolution of the distribution of newly-forming clusters. Incubation time of this process is calculated and compared with the experimental data.
