Heterorhabditis gerrardi n. sp. (Nematoda : Heterorhabditidae) : the hidden host of Photorhabdus asymbiotica (Enterobacteriaceae: γ-Proteobacteria)

open access: yes, 2009
A new entomopathogenic nematode species from Australia, Heterorhabditis gerrardi n. sp. (Nematoda: Heterorhabditidae) is described. Morphological and molecular studies together with cross-hybridization tests indicated that this nematode represents a new ...

Indagini sui nematodi entomopatogeni (Rhabditida: Steinernematidae e Heterorhabditidae) in pinete e querceti dell’Italia meridionale

open access: yes, 2016
OCCURRENCE OF ENTOMOPATHOGENIC NEMATODES (RHABDITIDA: STEIENERNEMATIDAE AND HETERORHABDITIDAE) IN PINE AND OAK WOODS IN SOUTHERN ITALY. Entomopathogenic nematodes (Steinernematidae and Heterorhabditidae) were isolated from southern italian wood soils ...

Virulence of entomopathogenic nematodes (Rhabditida: Steinernematidae, Heterorhabditidae) to spittlebug Mahanarva spectabilis (Hemiptera: Cercopidae)

open access: yesArquivos do Instituto Biológico
The spittlebug can seriously limit the production of forage, and the use of chemical products to control insect pests is costly and can harm the environment.

Identification of entomopathogenic nematodes in the steinernematidae and heterorhabditidae (nemata: rhabditida).

open access: yesJournal of nematology, 2011
This paper contains taxonomic keys for the identification of species of the genera Steinernema and Heterorhabditis. Morphometrics of certain life stages are presented in data tables so that the morphometrics of species identified using the keys can be checked in the tables.

Efficacy of entomopathogenic nematodes (Rhabditida: Steinernematidae and Heterorhabditidae) against the striped flea beetle, Phyllotreta striolata)

open access: yes, 2010
The striped flea beetle, Phyllotreta striolata (F.) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae), is an economically important pest on crucifer vegetables worldwide. Twenty isolates of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) (Rhabditida: Steinernematidae and Heterorhabditidae)

Taxonomic study of entomopathogenic nematodes (Nematoda : Steinernematidae, Heterorhabditidae) from Benin

open access: yes, 2015
A study on the biodiversity of entomopathogenic nematodes was conducted during 2010 and 2011 in South Benin. Soil samples from eight sites production of annual and perennial crops were analysed. We obtained 13.21 % of positive soil samples out of 280. We

Isolation and identification of entomopathogenic nematodes and their symbiotic bacteria from Kurdistan province in Iran

open access: yesJournal of Crop Protection, 2016
Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) are commonly used as biological agents for control of insect pests. This study was carried out to identify EPNs, determine dominant and frequent species in Kurdistan province, Iran and characterize their symbiotic ...

Survey of heterorhabditidae and steinernematidae (rhabditida, nematoda) in Western Canada.

open access: yesJournal of nematology, 2011
A survey was done in the summer months along the Alaska Highway, in other parts of British Columbia, in northern Alberta, and in the Yukon Territory for steinernematid and heterorhabditid nematodes occurring in the top 10 cm of soil. Steinernema feltiae and Steinernema spp. were found at 18 and Heterorhabditis megidis at 7 sites of 125 sampled.
