Efficacy of naproxen prophylaxis for the prevention of heterotopic ossification after hip surgery: a meta-analysis

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research, 2018
Background This meta-analysis aimed to assess whether the specific nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) naproxen has a role in reducing the occurrence of heterotopic ossification after hip surgery.

Heterotopic Ossification Causing Radiculopathy after Lumbar Total Disc Arthroplasty [PDF]

open access: yesAsian Spine Journal, 2015
To date, no reports have presented radiculopathy secondary to heterotopic ossification following lumbar total disc arthroplasty. The authors present a previously unpublished complication of lumbar total disk arthroplasty (TDA) secondary to heterotopic ...

Factors Associated With Accelerated Fracture Healing in Patients With Traumatic Brain Injury and Extremity Comminuted Fractures: A Retrospective Case–Control Study

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
In patients with traumatic brain injury and comminuted fractures, accelerated healing is independently predicted by younger age and greater TBI severity (lower GCS score). These factors may inform clinical decision‐making and provide insight into neurohumoral regulation of bone regeneration.

Proteomic profile of CSF obtained at the time of diagnosis determines amyotrophic lateral sclerosis progression and survival: CXCL7 levels in disease prognosis and survival

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 5, September 2026.
Untargeted multiomic profiling of cerebrospinal fluid reveals that proteomic, but not lipidomic, signatures robustly distinguish ALS patients from controls and stratify individuals by survival, highlighting marked molecular differences between short survival and long survival disease.

A Bone Marrow–Mimetic Hydrogel Enables Dual‐Phase Hemostasis and Vascularized Osteogenesis for Cranial Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 43, 3 August 2026.
A biomimetic, fiber‐reinforced hydrogel (FE‐PDA@Fib/Gel‐TG) that enables dual‐phase cranial defect repair. The system provides: instant hemostasis in the early stage, and sustained co‐delivery of pro‐angiogenic and osteogenic signals for synergistic vascularized bone regeneration.

Heterotopic Ossification in Rectal Carcinoma: Report of a Case and Review of the Literature

open access: yesCase Reports in Oncology, 2016
Heterotopic ossification in colorectal carcinoma is extremely rare. This report presents the case of a 57-year-old male who had undergone a low anterior resection following a diagnosis of rectal carcinoma.

Unexpected Promotion of Bone Regeneration by Inhibition of BMPR1A‐Mediated BMP Signalling

open access: yesCell Proliferation, Volume 59, Issue 8, August 2026.
BMPR1A downregulation reduces ID1, releases TCF3 to activate GNG4‐PI3K‐AKT signalling, thereby promoting OPC proliferation and bone regeneration. ABSTRACT Bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signalling plays a pivotal role in bone regeneration by regulating osteoprogenitor cell (OPC) function, and BMPs have been widely used in clinical treatment. However,

Beyond Potency: Emerging Determinants and Optimization Strategies Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy of Adult Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 40, 17 July 2026.
Adult stem cell therapy requires more than high in vitro potency. This review proposes a systems framework in which cell‐intrinsic programs, instructive microenvironmental cues, and pre‐/post‐delivery engineering are co‐designed under standardized translational rules.
