Minimal residual disease (MRD) leads to cancer relapse and poor survival in ovarian cancer. The lack of representative 3D models limits therapy development. The microfluidics‐based high throughput 3D microtumor platform described here generates clinically‐relevant MRD models. The 3D microtumors recapitulate the molecular signatures of MRD from patients.

Abstract The post‐Miocene climatic history of arid environments in South America has been identified as a key driver of dispersal and diversification, particularly among plant groups such as Cactaceae. Despite their iconic status, many cactus genera remain poorly understood, and comprehensive taxonomic and systematic revisions using morphological and ...

Hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells and potentials for application in fetal cell replacement therapy [PDF]
Fetal cell replacement therapy or in utero hematopoietic cell transplantation (IUHCT) is proposed as a non-myeloablative alternative to bone marrow transplantation (BMT) for a number of inborn immunologic, hematologic and metabolic disorders.

Abstract Background Chronic gingivostomatitis in cats (FCGS) is a moderately to severely painful condition, potentially caused by inadequate immune response to oral antigenic stimulation. Salivary peptidome analysis can identify inflammatory protein mediators and pathways involved in oral mucosal immune activation and may indicate potential therapeutic

Molecular Determinants of Synapse Formation [PDF]
Understanding which neurons connect and how those synaptic connections are specified is key to explaining brain development and disease. Studying the molecular logic of synapse determination is limited by relatively poor neuroanatomical knowledge at the ...

Nanoliposomes containing hydrophobic gold nanoclusters are engineered, characterized, and evaluated for their radiocatalytic properties for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. These nanoliposomes exhibit promising radiotherapy‐enhancing properties, potential for radiotherapy‐controlled drug delivery, and improved chemoradiotherapy outcomes on 3D ...

Abstract Fetal growth restriction (FGR) is a risk factor for obesity in adult life. Importantly, growth‐restricted females are more prone to obesity than males. The mechanisms involved in this sexually dimorphic programming are not known. Previously, we have demonstrated that ambient hyperthermia (40°C) led to placental insufficiency and significant ...

Conditional Knockout of the L-Type Voltage-gated Calcium Channel CaV1.3 via the FLEX Switch [PDF]
L-type voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs) play a central role in regulating intracellular calcium (Ca2+) concentrations, thereby contributing to signal transduction in many electrically excitable cells.
