High Temperatures-High Pressures, 2000
Isothermal vapour-liquid equilibrium pressure, temperature, and mole fraction data on two binary refrigerant systems, HFC-125 + HFC-245fa and HC-290 + HFC-245fa, were measured. The measurements were performed by means of a recirculation apparatus with gas-chromatographic analysis of the composition.

1,1,1,2,3,4,4,5,5,5-Decafluoropentane (HFC-4310mee)
Toxicology and Industrial Health, 2021HFC-43-10mee is a volatile liquid at room temperature and used as a cleaning agent, aerosol, etc. HFC-43-10mee has low acute inhalation toxicity; 4-hour LC 50 in rats of approximately 11,000 ppm. The compound was not a skin or eye irritant and was not a skin sensitizer.

Update on the Development of HFC-245fa as a Liquid HFC Blowing Agent
Journal of Cellular Plastics, 1997Because of continuing environmental concerns about ozone depletion, regulatory mandates have been established that require the phaseout of compounds with any potential to deplete the ozone layer, including HCFC-141b. These regulations vary from country to country, but in the U.S., for example, HCFC-141b will be phased out in less than a decade ...

Coexistence curve of HFC-134a and thermal conductivity of HFC-245fa
Fluid Phase Equilibria, 2000Abstract The present paper deals with the experimental results for the refractive index of the saturated vapor and liquid of HFC-134a and the thermal conductivity of HFC-245fa in the liquid phase. The coexistence curve of the refractive index of HFC-134a up to the critical temperature has been measured.

Biodegradation and Ecotoxicity of HFCs and HCFCs
Archives of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 1999Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) are used or developed as substitutes for fully halogenated chlorofluorocarbons. Based on the results of closed-bottle tests, the biodegradation of HFC-32, HCFC-123, HCFC-124, HFC-125, HFC-134a, HCFC-141b, HCFC-225ca, and HCFC-225cb was less than 60% after 28 days and therefore these ...

Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) have been increasingly produced and used in applications such as refrigeration, air-conditioning, and foam blowing following the phasedown of ozone-depleting substances (ODSs). In addition to emissions resultingfrom these uses, some HFCs, particularly HFC-23, are releasedas by-products during the manufacture of other compounds.

Inhalation Toxicity and Genotoxicity of Hydrofluorocarbon (HFC)-236fa and HFC-236ea
International Journal of Toxicology, 2000The acute, subchronic, and developmental and genetic toxicity of hydrofluorocarbon (HFC)-236fa and HFC-236ea were evaluated to assist in establishing proper handling guidance. In acute inhalation studies, rats were exposed whole body for 4 hours to various concentrations of each isomer.

Abstract In this paper, the mixture of HFC-161/HFC-134a (0.6/0.4 in mass fraction), named ‘M5’, is proposed as a substitution of HFC-134a used in automotive air conditioning systems. The theoretical and experimental cycle performances for M5 and HFC-134a were conducted at the condensation temperature from 50 °C–65 °C, evaporation temperature from −5 °

The effect of HfC content on mechanical properties HfC–W composites
International Journal of Refractory Metals and Hard Materials, 2014Abstract For improving the mechanical properties of tungsten, HfC–W composites were fabricated by ball milling and spark plasma sintering process. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the composites were investigated. The interdiffusion of the Hf and W atoms during sintering produced a mixed carbide, identified as (Hf,W)C. This interfacial
