Phenotype characterization of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction in medical device and surgical trials

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
This systematic review identified 24 clinical trials of medical device and surgical interventions for HFpEF, with 16 demonstrating at least safety and feasibility, but little evidence of long‐term benefit. Phenotype‐based responses suggest that certain interventions may benefit specific HFpEF subgroups, yet most trials suffered from heterogeneous ...

A pilot study on DNA methylation changes for non‐invasive molecular diagnostics in heart failure

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
A liquid biopsy approach integrating the high‐resolution RRBS DNA methylation platform and network‐oriented strategy identified the hypomethylation of CPTA1, CKAP4, SPTB, SYT6, EIF2S2, and RAB11FIP1 genes as useful biomarkers in distinguishing between ischaemic and non‐ischaemic HF aetiologies.

Cardiac rehabilitation and health‐related quality of life in preserved ejection fraction heart failure: A meta‐analysis

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims The study aims to evaluate the effects of exercise‐based cardiac rehabilitation (ExCR) on the health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) in people with heart failure preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Methods This study is a systematic review and meta‐analysis.

Circulating mediators linking cardiometabolic diseases to HFpEF: a mediation Mendelian randomization analysis

open access: yesCardiovascular Diabetology
Background Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is an increasingly prevalent clinical syndrome with high morbidity and mortality. Although HFpEF frequently coexists with cardiometabolic diseases, the causal mechanisms and potential ...
