Adsorption‐Engineered Hydrocarbon Ionomers for Durable Proton‐Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Hydrocarbon ionomers suffer from oxidation‐driven interfacial degradation in PEM fuel cell cathodes, leading to catalyst instability. Here, adsorption‐engineered poly(fluorene) ionomers decouple interfacial anchoring from oxidative degradation, enabling strong catalyst–ionomer interactions while resisting electrochemical oxidation.

Probabilistic logic analysis of the highly heterogeneous spatiotemporal HFRS incidence distribution in Heilongjiang province (China) during 2005-2013. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases, 2019
BACKGROUND:Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) is a zoonosis caused by hantavirus (belongs to Hantaviridae family). A large amount of HFRS cases occur in China, especially in the Heilongjiang Province, raising great concerns regarding public ...

Understanding Operando Water Management in Hydroxide‐Exchange‐Membrane Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Effective water management is vital for high‐performance hydroxide‐exchange‐membrane fuel cells. Using a custom water‐flux station, this study quantifies how membrane thickness, microporous layers, and operating conditions dictate internal water transport.

Diastereomeric Monomers Enable Anion‐Exchange Membranes With Controlled Local Polymer Backbone Flexibility and High Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stereochemistry enables control of ion‐exchange membrane properties via local backbone flexibility without altering the polymer composition. Syn‐enriched membranes show higher water uptake and improved water‐electrolysis performance, whereas anti‐enriched membranes exhibit higher hydration efficiency and improved mechanical properties.

Engineering Ultrastable Intrinsic Radicals: Graphene Quantum Dots With NIR‐II Emission for Dynamic Deep‐Tissue Bioimaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stable radicals are attractive for photonic and quantum information technologies but are often limited by instability. We stabilize intrinsic radicals in graphene quantum dots via 2D polymerization of perylene derivatives, where bilayer defect confinement suppresses quenching (100–500 K).

Atmospheric moisture variability and transmission of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome in Changsha City, Mainland China, 1991-2010. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases, 2013
BACKGROUND: The transmission of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) is influenced by environmental determinants. This study aimed to explore the association between atmospheric moisture variability and the transmission of hemorrhagic fever with ...
