Biological and physical controls on N2, O2, and CO2 distributions in contrasting Southern Ocean surface waters [PDF]
We present measurements of pCO2, O2 concentration, biological oxygen saturation (ΔO2/Ar), and N2 saturation (ΔN2) in Southern Ocean surface waters during austral summer, 2010–2011. Phytoplankton biomass varied strongly across distinct hydrographic zones,

Interaction of pro‐apoptotic protein HGTD‐P with heat shock protein 90 is required for induction of mitochondrial apoptotic cascades [PDF]
HGTD‐P is a hypoxia‐responsive pro‐apoptotic protein that transmits hypoxic signals directly to mitochondria. When overexpressed, HGTD‐P induces cell death via typical mitochondrial apoptotic cascades. However, much is unknown about post‐transcriptional modification and signaling networks of HGTD‐P in association with cell death‐regulating proteins. We

TCT-based monitoring of LGAD radiation hardness for ATLAS-HGTD production
Production of the High Granularity Timing Detector for the ATLAS experiment at High Luminosity LHC requires over 21000 silicon sensors based on Low Gain Avalanche Diode (LGAD) technology. Their radiation hardness is monitored as a part of the production quality control.

MUX64, an analogue 64-to-1 multiplexer ASIC for the ATLAS High Granularity Timing Detector
We present the design and the performance of MUX64, a 64-to-1 analogue multiplexer ASIC for the ATLAS High Granularity Timing Detector (HGTD). The MUX64 transmits one of its 64 inputs selected by six address lines for the voltages or temperatures being ...

Mechanisms of resistance to Hsp90 inhibitor drugs: a complex mosaic emerges [PDF]
The molecular chaperone Hsp90 holds great promise as a cancer drug target, despite some of the initial clinical trials of Hsp90 inhibitor drugs having not lived up to expectation.

A High-Granularity Timing Detector (HGTD) for the Phase-II upgrade of the ATLAS detector [PDF]
The expected increase of the particle flux at the high-luminosity phase of the LHC (HL-LHC) with instantaneous luminosities up to L = 7.5× 1034 cm−1s−1 will have a severe impact on the ATLAS detector performance. The pile-up is expected to increase on average to 200 interactions per bunch crossing.
