Radar Polarimetry in Glaciology: Theory, Measurement Techniques, and Scientific Applications for Investigating the Anisotropy of Ice Masses

open access: yesReviews of Geophysics, Volume 63, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract Dielectric anisotropy in ice alters the propagation of polarized radio waves, so polarimetric radar sounding can be used to survey anisotropic properties of ice masses. Ice anisotropy is either intrinsic, associated with ice‐crystal orientation fabric (COF), or extrinsic, associated with material heterogeneity, such as bubbles, fractures, and ...

Exploring the link between burning mouth syndrome and human herpesvirus‐6B: a narrative review on pathogenesis

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Society of New Zealand, Volume 55, Issue 6, Page 1384-1399, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS) presents as a persistent, often perplexing pain condition characterised primarily by a sensation of burning, yet frequently lacks observable clinical evidence. The underlying mechanisms of BMS remain elusive. Typically, the tongue bears the brunt of the discomfort, followed by the inner lower lip and hard palate ...

INTRODUCTION: Exanthem subitum is a classical rash disease of early childhood caused by human herpesvirus 6B (HHV-6B). However, the rash is frequently misdiagnosed as that of either measles or rubella.

Has early mortality following single‐unit unrelated cord blood transplantation improved in recent years? A nationwide registry data analysis from 2003 to 2022 in Japan

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, Volume 207, Issue 5, Page 2026-2040, November 2025.
The 100‐day non‐relapse mortality after single‐unit cord blood transplantation significantly declined from 19.6% (2003–2007) to 9.5% (2018–2022), while the 3‐year overall survival improved from 38.8% to 54.4%. Haematopoietic recovery rates improved steadily, with neutrophil engraftment reaching 89.6% and platelet engraftment 78.0% in the most recent ...

Phosphorus Doped Silicon Nanowires as High‐Performance Li‐Ion Battery Anodes and Supercapacitor Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 19, October 6, 2025.
Phosphorus doped Si nanowires (SiNWs), grown directly on Cu using the hot‐wire‐assisted VLS method, show remarkable improvements in Li‐ion battery anode and supercapacitor performance. Morphological changes and optimal doping improve capacity retention, rate capability, and areal capacitance.

Association of human herpesvirus-6B with mesial temporal lobe epilepsy.

open access: yesPLoS Medicine, 2007
BackgroundHuman herpesvirus-6 (HHV-6) is a beta-herpesvirus with 90% seroprevalence that infects and establishes latency in the central nervous system. Two HHV-6 variants are known: HHV-6A and HHV-6B.

Whole genome diversity of inherited chromosomally integrated HHV-6 derived from healthy individuals of diverse geographic origin

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Human herpesviruses 6-A and -B (HHV-6A, HHV-6B) are ubiquitous in human populations worldwide. These viruses have been associated with several diseases such as multiple sclerosis, Hodgkin’s lymphoma or encephalitis.

The clinical and epidemiological features of HHV-6A and HHV-6B infections in children of Moscow

open access: yesДетские инфекции (Москва), 2019
Human herpes virus type 6 (HHV-6) is the etiological agent of plenty diseases. The form of the developing pathology depends on the localization of the virus in T-lymphocytes and on virus type: HHV-6A or HHV-6B, but identification of the type is possible ...

GP96 interacts with HHV-6 during viral entry and directs it for cellular degradation.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
CD46 and CD134 mediate attachment of Human Herpesvirus 6A (HHV-6A) and HHV-6B to host cell, respectively. But many cell types interfere with viral infection through rapid degradation of viral DNA.

LYMPHOPROLIFERATIVE SYNDROMES ASSOCIATED WITH HUMAN HERPESVIRUS-6A AND HUMAN HERPESVIRUS-6B

open access: yesMediterranean Journal of Hematology and Infectious Diseases, 2018
Human herpesvirus 6A and 6B (HHV-6A and HHV-6B) have been noted since their discovery for their T-lymphotropism. Although it has proven difficult to determine the extent to which HHV-6A and HHV-6B are involved in the pathogenesis of many diseases ...
