Hierarchical Structure of Microgrids Control System

IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2012
Advanced control strategies are vital components for realization of microgrids. This paper reviews the status of hierarchical control strategies applied to microgrids and discusses the future trends. This hierarchical control structure consists of primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, and is a versatile tool in managing stationary and dynamic ...

The ral hierarchical control system

Proceedings. 1986 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 1986
A Hierarchical Control System with organizer, coordinator and hardware levels has been developed. A VAX-11/750 serves as the organizer. An LSI-11/23 equipped with FPF11 floating point processor is the basis of the coordinator. The original controller for a PUMA-600 robotic manipulator has been modified to serve as the hardware level.

Hierarchical Control System

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1983
Abstract The paper describes the hierarchical control system based on identical universal building blocks. Their universality and reliability are achieved by using microprocessors. Applications in control of complex technological processes and particularly in turbine control are considered.

Hierarchical control of weakly-coupled systems

Automatica, 1980
Abstract The usual concept of weakly coupled systems is generalized to provide a definition in terms ot the decomposition used. The definition inciudes a measure of the strength ot the coupling. The main result of the paper is a local convergence result for natural decompositions (decompositions which exploit system structure) of systems which are ...

On the design of hierarchical control systems with MPC

2009 European Control Conference (ECC), 2009
An approach to the design of hierarchical control systems with Model Predictive Control (MPC) is presented. A mathematical formulation of the problem is given by considering a three layers structure and different time scales. The communication protocol between layers, needed to coordinate the control actions computed at the different levels, is also ...

Concurrency control in hierarchical multidatabase systems

The VLDB Journal The International Journal on Very Large Data Bases, 1997
Over the past decade, significant research has been done towards developing transaction management algorithms for multidatabase systems. Most of this work assumes a monolithic architecture of the multidatabase system with a single software module that follows a single transaction management algorithm to ensure the consistency of data stored in the ...

Hierarchical optimization and control of a power system

ISGT 2014, 2014
A massive transformation of the power grid is undergoing towards the smart grid concept. Devices such as smart meters, inverter interfaced power devices, energy storage, power electronics equipment, smart appliances and other controllable devices are being incorporated in the power grid.
