A Parallel Hardware Implementation for 2-D Hierarchical Clustering Based on Fuzzy Logic
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2021In this brief we propose a novel hardware implementation for a bidimensional unconstrained hierarchical clustering method, based on fuzzy logic and membership functions. Unlike classical clustering approaches, this brief is based on an advanced algorithm that shows an intrinsic parallelism.

Hierarchical approach to fuzzy logic control
Proceedings of the 1996 ACM symposium on Applied Computing - SAC '96, 1996This paper proposes a framework for hierarchically structured control systems that may incorporate fuzzy as well as conventional control strategies in an analytically tractable form. This framework is further used to develop a formalism whereby certain fundamental system theoretic properties of the resulting closed loop system, such as stability and ...

Analysis and Modelling of Hierarchical Fuzzy Logic Systems
Journal of Information Technology Research, 2008In this article the design and development of a hierarchical fuzzy logic system is investigated. A new method using an evolutionary algorithm for design of hierarchical fuzzy logic system for prediction and modelling of interest rates in Australia is developed.

A new PI+D type hierarchical fuzzy logic controller
Proceedings of 2003 IEEE Conference on Control Applications, 2003. CCA 2003., 2004In this study, a fuzzy logic controller that uses the integral action in a hierarchical manner is considered. The output of a conventional fuzzy logic controller that uses error and derivative of error as input variables is improved by using the second derivative of error. An important feature of the proposed controller is its simple structure.

Hierarchical Fuzzy Logic Systems in Classification: An Application Example
2017This paper focuses on problems related to learning rules using numerical data for the Hierarchical Fuzzy Logic Systems (HFLS) described in [8]. Using hierarchical structure of Fuzzy Logic Systems (FLS) some complex problems could be divided into subproblems with smaller dimensions. “Hierarchical” means that fuzzy sets produced as output of one of fuzzy

An adaptive hierarchical fuzzy logic system for modelling of financial systems
Intelligent Systems in Accounting, Finance and Management, 2004AbstractIn this paper an intelligent hierarchical fuzzy logic system using genetic algorithms for the prediction and modelling of interest rates in Australia is developed. The proposed system uses a hierarchical fuzzy logic system in which a genetic algorithm is used as a training method for learning the fuzzy rules knowledge bases that are used for ...

Hierarchical Fuzzy Logic Systems: Current Research and Perspectives
2014This paper presents possible application of hierarchical fuzzy logic systems to control vehicles in computer games. The main idea is presented in two ways, a current research referring to paper [14] and concerning the new architecture of a fuzzy logic system as Hierarchical Fuzzy Logic Systems (HFLS), and a brief look at the application of higher order

Hierarchical Fuzzy Logic Control of a Manipulator With Slewing and Deployable Links
Journal of Vibration and Control, 2001The advantages of combining a conventional controller and a knowledge-based approach are ad dressed in the specific context of regulating a robotic manipulator with deployable and slewing links. A hierarchical structure having a high-speed crisp-algorithmic controller at the bottom layer and an intelligent tuner at an upper layer is developed.

Innovative Design of Adaptive Hierarchical Fuzzy Logic Systems
International Conference on Computational Intelligence for Modelling, Control and Automation and International Conference on Intelligent Agents, Web Technologies and Internet Commerce (CIMCA-IAWTIC'06), 2006In this paper the supervised and unsupervised fuzzy concept learning using evolutionary algorithms is considered. The paper explores the design and development of hierarchical fuzzy logic systems using an evolutionary algorithm. The development of hierarchical fuzzy logic systems is considered by a new method which determines the number of layers in ...

Learning Rules for Hierarchical Fuzzy Logic Systems with Selective Fuzzy Controller Activation
2015This paper focuses on problems related to learning rules using numerical data for the Hierarchical Fuzzy Logic Systems (HFLS) described in [9]. Learning rules for Fuzzy Logic Systems (FLS) or Fuzzy Controller (FC) in short could be accomplished by using many different approaches, building one, complex rulebase using all available input and output ...
