Search for Higgs boson production in association with a high-energy photon via vector-boson fusion with decay into bottom quark pairs at s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
A search is presented for the production of the Standard Model Higgs boson in association with a high-energy photon. With a focus on the vector-boson fusion process and the dominant Higgs boson decay into b-quark pairs, the search benefits from a large ...

Fast and interpretable support vector classification based on the truncated ANOVA decomposition

open access: yesGAMM-Mitteilungen, Volume 48, Issue 1, March 2025.
Abstract Support vector machines (SVMs) are an important tool for performing classification on scattered data, where one usually has to deal with many data points in high‐dimensional spaces. We propose solving SVMs in primal form using feature maps based on trigonometric functions or wavelets.

Measurement of cross sections and couplings of the Higgs Boson in bosonic decay channels with the ATLAS detector

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
After the discovery of the Higgs boson, the measurement of its properties are of particular importance. In this paper, measurement of the cross sections and couplings of the Higgs boson in bosonic decay channels with the ATLAS detector are presented ...

Visible GeV ALP from TeV Vector‐Like Leptons

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 73, Issue 3, March 2025.
Abstract A model is presented where a GeV axion‐like‐particle (ALP) is predicted in a large portion of the parameter space due to the presence of explicit Peccei–Quinn (PQ) symmetry‐breaking terms in an exotic leptonic sector. The latter provides a solution to the muon g−2$g-2$ anomaly, within the framework of the Linear Seesaw neutrino mechanism.

Studies of Parity Violation in Atoms

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 537, Issue 2, February 2025.
This article provides an overview of atomic parity violation (APV), emphasizing its role in testing the Standard Model and probing new physics. The review discusses manifestations of APV, including nuclear‐spin‐independent and dependent effects, and explores isotopic comparison as a method for precision measurements.

Constraint on the total width of the Higgs boson from Higgs boson and four-top-quark measurements in pp collisions at s = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
This Letter presents a constraint on the total width of the Higgs boson (ΓH) using a combined measurement of on-shell Higgs boson production and the production of four top quarks, which involves contributions from off-shell Higgs boson-mediated processes.

Search for nonresonant Higgs boson pair production in the b b ¯ b b ¯ $$ \mathrm{b}\overline{\mathrm{b}}\mathrm{b}\overline{\mathrm{b}} $$ final state at s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 13 TeV

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
Results of a search for nonresonant production of Higgs boson pairs, with each Higgs boson decaying to a b b ¯ $$ \mathrm{b}\overline{\mathrm{b}} $$ pair, are presented. This search uses data from proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13

An Algebraic Approach to Light–Matter Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 4, Issue 1, January 2025.
This is a review of an algebraic approach to light–matter interactions that is theoretically powerful and computationally friendly. Theoretical expressions can be developed and manipulated conveniently thanks to the generality of the basis on which the approach rests, and a compact notation.
