Effect of carbon content on the microstructure and phases of (Ti,V,Nb,Cr,Mo)Cx high-entropy carbide [PDF]
High-entropy carbide (Ti,V,Nb,Cr,Mo)Cx with varying carbon content (x = 13â16 wt%) was synthesized using conventional argon sintering at 1800 °C. Homogeneous distribution of elements was obtained at x = 15 wt% of C, while the presence of residual ...

Coordinated Architectural and Chemical Reinforcement in the Crushing Mandible of a Soldier Termite
The crushing mandible of a soldier termite withstands substantial biting loads despite lacking mineral. Its cuticle is partitioned: convex teeth pair hardness and zinc enrichment with aligned chitin fibers for contact durability, while stiffer concave regions between teeth carry bending loads.

New Advances in High-Entropy Alloys
In recent years, people have tended to adjust the degree of order/disorder to explore new materials. The degree of order/disorder can be measured by entropy, and it can be divided into two parts: topological disordering and chemical disordering.
