Mechanical properties of reactive sintered high-entropy boride/carbide composite
High-entropy equimolar (Ti-Zr-Nb-Ta-Hf)B2 - (Ti-Zr-Nb-Ta-Hf)C dual–phase boride/carbide composite was prepared via a two-step spark plasma sintering (SPS).

Introducing the High Entropy Concept for Cemented Carbides
170181Traditional cemented carbides are based on tungsten carbide (WC) as a hard phase and cobalt (Co) as metal binder phase. Due to issues regarding health, the safety in supply, and ethical sourcing of both W and Co, alternative compositions are of ...

The effect of lanthanum addition on the catalytic activity of γ-alumina supported bimetallic Co–Mo carbides for dry methane reforming [PDF]
The effect of lanthanum addition to γ-alumina supported bimetallic carbides has been studied for the reaction of dry methane reforming using four different lanthanum loading levels of 1, 5, 10 and 15 wt% of lanthanum.

Controlled Growth of Boron Nitride in Various Phases
Phase‐selective boron nitride growth is presented as a unified materials‐design problem across hexagonal, rhombohedral, cubic, and amorphous phases. By linking synthesis routes to thermodynamic stability, kinetic accessibility, surface diffusion, interfacial templating, and energetic activation, this review clarifies how bonding and stacking are ...

Dental Microwear Texture Analysis on Radular Teeth
3D microwear textures reveal how gastropod radular teeth respond to controlled abrasive contact. Distinct surface signatures distinguish regular abrasion from fracture‐dominated material removal, showing how mineralized coatings, fibrous cores, and substrate properties jointly shape wear and failure in a biological scraping interface.

Feasibility research of gaining “refractory high entropy carbides” through in situ carburization of refractory high entropy alloys [PDF]
: High entropy alloys (HEAs) refer to solid solution alloys which contain five or more principal elements in equal or near equal atomic percent. Due to their unique structures, HEAs have superior comprehensive properties compared with the conventional ...
