A single high gain (16 dB) Yagi antenna has been developed for Telecommand transmission at 148.25 MHz in the mission of ARYABHATA, the first Indian Satellite. The resulting design is quite optimum and can be used for similar applications.

2008 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2008
A modular high-gain antenna, installed at a relatively low height, has been shown to provide link budget improvement over a large part of the serviced cell, including near the cell border which shows the potential for larger site separations. Signal strength below the relatively narrow main beam is maintained by using null-filling.

In some applications, coherently combined multiple antennas are more appropriate than a single larger antenna. Coherent combining produces grating lobes, and one of these lobes must be aligned with the signal. Narrow bandwidth applications use phase shifters for coherent combining, but true time delay compensation is required to maintain combining ...

High Gain Planar Antenna for Narrowcast Broadcasting
2018 IEEE 7th Global Conference on Consumer Electronics (GCCE), 2018A narrowcast broadcasting with a part of the terrestrial digital broadcasting is proposed and developed. To perform stable reception of the broadcasting, a planar antenna with a high gain and a nondirectional characteristic is necessary on the roof of the vehicle.

High gain antennas in a random environment
Ninth IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (Cat. No.98TH8361), 2002The scattering environment encountered in mobile and personal communications is usually not considered as a practical background for directive antennas. However, when using adaptive antennas such as antenna arrays at each end of the link it is possible on average to achieve array gains almost as high as in free space.

A high gain antenna for small satellite missions
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Symposium, 2004., 2004In this paper we propose an innovative high gain microstrip antenna well suited for aerospace applications. The design is based on a shorted annular patch (SAP) radiator integrated with a stacked parasitic element. Thanks to the mechanical characteristics of SAP the whole antenna can be realized with suspended technology leading to a compact and robust
