A new low noise, high gain antenna

IRE International Convention Record, 1963
A new antenna type is described which combines the low noise temperature characteristics of the horn-reflector antenna with the more attractive mechanical features associated with the paraboloidal reflector. Cassegrain optics used in an off-set feed configuration enables a virtual source to be formed without sub-reflector blockage. An extremely compact

Miniaturized High Gain Antenna for Biomedical Application

Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Future Networks and Distributed Systems, 2019
In this paper, a low-profile antenna system has been designed for the biomedical application operating in industrial, scientific, and medical (2.40-2.4835 GHz) band. By using a shorting technique, a circular cut shaped radiator and the polygon-shaped open-ended slots in the ground plane is proposed.

A Compact High Gain Antenna for Small Satellite Applications

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2007
The development of a circularly-polarized compact high-gain antenna to be used for the European Student Earth Orbiter small satellite mission is described. The antenna is realized stacking two coaxial shorted annular patches and placing the top one at half a wavelength from the lower one. At variance of other similar configurations proposed in the past,

High‐gain printed dipole antenna

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2005
AbstractA printed dipole antenna showing high gain (about 6.8 dBi) radiation in the azimuthal plane is presented. The dipole antenna has a narrow width of 10 mm and a total length of about 202 mm (with 1.64 wavelengths of the frequency at 2442 MHz, the center frequency of the 2.4‐GHz WLAN band).

High gain patch antenna for CubeSat

2016 International Conference on Wireless Communications, Signal Processing and Networking (WiSPNET), 2016
A design of high gain patch antenna system suited for inter-satellite and earth observatory is presented. The antenna consists of four patch antenna array designed for maximum gain, this antenna is suitable for CubeSat structure. A 96mm square antenna substrate is designed and fixed to one of the faces of CubeSat.

A High-Gain Dual-Polarized Antenna

2018 IEEE International Conference on Computational Electromagnetics (ICCEM), 2018
A differentially-driven dual-polarized high-gain stacked patch antenna is presented in this paper. Three-layer stacked patches are adopted to increase the impedance bandwidth of the antenna. Each of the three stacked patches are inserted with four shorting posts for enhancing the antenna gain. A wide band and a high isolation can be realized. Moreover,

High Gain EBG Resonator Antenna

2005 18th International Conference on Applied Electromagnetics and Communications, 2005
This paper describes how it is possible to increase the radiation bandwidth and the gain of a classical planar EBG antenna. Those two parameters are relative to the EBG material but also to the excitation, this second characteristic is studied here. The principle is to excite the EBG structure with several sources (instead of a single one classically).

A new high gain-slot antenna

IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2005
A novel design for a high gain-slot antenna is proposed. In the proposed design, by properly etching nonradiating open circuit slots and crossovers along the axis of the radiating slot, the aperture field on every slot dipole forms in phase-electric fiend standing wave distributions. As a result, the radiating slot can achieve a high gain.

Tolerances for combining high gain antennas

Proceedings of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium and URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2002
Coherently combining high gain antennas to obtain increased gain is sometimes proposed. Coherent combining produces grating lobes in the overall antenna pattern limiting combining efficiency in the signal direction. Requirements for narrow bandwidth phase matching and wider bandwidth time delay matching are presented. >

High-gain antenna with asymmetric flares

2015 International Conference on Radar, Antenna, Microwave, Electronics and Telecommunications (ICRAMET), 2015
This work investigates the application of flares as a low-cost alternative for controlling the vertical beamwidth of a patch array antenna for S-band maritime radar applications. The use of flares reduces the number of array vertical elements needed to obtain the specified vertical beamwidth of the antenna and thus reducing the antenna cost.
