IWO-based Synthesis of Log-Periodic Dipole Array [PDF]

open access: yes
The Invasive Weed Optimization (IWO) is an effective evolutionary and recently developed method. Due to its better performance in comparison to other well-known optimization methods, IWO has been chosen to solve many complex non-linear problems in ...

Purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 for phase separation studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

High-Gain Wideband Metasurface Antenna With Low Profile

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, a novel compact wideband and high-gain antenna based on metasurface is proposed. The antenna is an octagon with a side length of 32.3 mm and a height of 5.6 mm.

Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

Identification and characterisation of calcitonin receptor isoforms expressed in glioblastoma derived glioma stem and U‐87 MG cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma cells express calcitonin receptor variants (CT receptor isoforms) that may help them survive stress. Using qPCR, transcript‐specific long‐read nanopore sequencing, immunofluorescence co‐localisation and comparative sequence analysis, this study identifies a novel alternatively spliced CALCR transcript that encodes the CTb receptor isoform ...

Wideband High-Gain and Low Scattering Antenna Using Shared-Aperture Metamaterial Superstrate [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering, 2018
In this paper, a novel wideband high-gain and low scattering antenna using a shared-aperture metamaterial superstrate (SAMS) is designed, fabricated and measured. The superstrate unit cell consisting of two frequency selective surface (FSS) layers with a

Type I interferons modulate autophagy to shape gemcitabine response in pancreatic cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Type I interferons differentially modulate autophagy and the response of pancreatic cancer cells to gemcitabine. IFNα2b stimulates autophagic flux and protects cells from gemcitabine‐induced cell death, contributing to chemoresistance. In contrast, IFNβ1a inhibits autophagosome formation and enhances gemcitabine‐induced cell death, resulting in ...

Comparing Two Feed Techniques for Exciting High-Gain mmWave Lens Antenna

open access: yes
Two planar feeds, a microstrip patch antenna and a printed square loop antenna, are used as primary radiators for illumination of a lens antenna for operation within 26 – 27 GHz band.
