This paper is intended as a status report on high-speed detectors for the visible and near-infrared portion of the optical spectrum. Both vacuum and solid-state detectors are discussed, with the emphasis on those devices which can be used as direct (noncoherent) detectors of weak optical signals modulated at microwave frequencies.

High Speed Dexterous Manipulation with High Speed Vision
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2009Abstract Vision is one of most important sensors for dexterous manipulation. The sampling rate of usual vision system is 30Hz. However, it is not enough to control manipulation system in realtime. In order to solve this problem, a high-speed vision system has been developed in which the sampling rate is more than 1kHz.
