Mechanical Properties of Tempered Nanobainite Steel [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2013
The mechanical properties of 62 SiMnCr 4 steel transformed isothermally at 280ºC for 5-hours were investigated. The hardness of nanobainite steel was equivalent to tempered martensite steel.

Size Effects of High Strength Steel Wires

open access: yesMetals, 2019
This study examines the effects of size on the strength of materials, especially on high strength pearlitic steel wires. These wires play a central role in many long span suspension bridges and their design, construction, and maintenance are important ...

Therapeutic Apheresis for Intravenous Methylprednisolone‐Refractory Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder: Clinical and Radiological Outcomes in a Single‐Center Case Series

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Surface roughness rolling-transfer regularity and prediction model of high strength steel strips

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2016
The surface roughness rolling-transfer and change law of high strength steel strips and the surface roughness change law of working rolls are studied through a batch of field experiments and analyzed by a statistical method to find out a control method ...

The pyruvate generator is a common phenomenon in mitochondria from different rat and mouse brain regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The pyruvate generator, which causes activation of respiration by extra‐mitochondrial Ca2+, is also present and functional in rat brainstem mitochondria, as it is in other brain regions. This finding is confirmed by experiments with a fully reconstituted malate–aspartate shuttle (MAS).

The Effect of Nickel Plating on Hydrogen Embrittlement of High Strength Steel. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
The microstructure of high strength steel is susceptible to delayed failure caused by the absorption of hydrogen produced either during cathodic charging or electroplating. When 0.8%C and AISI 4340 steel are subjected to constant load testing, a wide

Concentrically loaded short high strength composite columns

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents an experimental study on the concentrically loaded high strength square short concrete filled steel tube (CFST) columns. The nominal yield strength of the steel sections of columns was 690 MPa, and the unconfined compressive strength ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...
