Experimental Study on the Bonding Performance between Shaped Steel and High-Strength Concrete
The integration of steel fibers into high-strength concrete (HSC) offers a solution to address the brittleness and limited ductility typically associated with conventional HSC structures.

Abstract In order to reduce CO2 emissions and fuel consumption, and to respect current environmental norms, the reduction of vehicles weight is a primary target of the automotive industry. Advanced High Strength Steels (AHSS) and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS), which present excellent mechanical properties, are consequently increasingly used in ...

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

The low cycle fatigue life of additive manufactured HAYNES® 282® superalloy was investigated for conventional and high‐productivity processing: samples of the former lasted 1400–1700 cycles, while samples of the latter failed at ~ 1200 cycles, at 760 °C and 1% strain.

High Strength Spring Steel, "ND120S".
As for automotive suspension coil spring, its weight saving has been achieved by increasing the design stress, since the increasing of design stress requires higher fatigue strength and sag resistance. However, in the case of the conventional spring steel, the high tensile strength over 1900MPa can dramatically reduce the corrosion fatigue strength and

Duplex Stainless Steel Laser‐Surface Textured: Stability in Brine Solution
Controlled laser‐surface treatment (LST) of duplex DSS2205 steel is performed to increase its stability in brine solution under cyclic electrochemical assays. The superior protection with respect to flat and smooth panels is attributed to the presence of FeCr2O4 as the main protective oxide layer in the LST surface, after corrosion tests. The stability

This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting
