Flame front characteristics of turbulent premixed flames diluted with CO2 and H2O at high pressure and high temperature

Proceedings of the Combustion Institute, 2013
Abstract Flame front structure characteristics of turbulent premixed flames including the local radius of curvature, fractal inner cutoff scale and local flame angle were calculated from the experimental OH-PLIF images of CH4/air flames and those diluted with CO2 and superheated H2O at 0.5 MPa and 573 K. The convex and concave structures of the flame

Two-dimensional Visualization of Premixed Hydrogen-Oxygen High Temperature Flame

2nd International Energy Conversion Engineering Conference, 2004
We applied new type high–speed CCD camera to obtain the 2D chemical composition distributions in premixed hydrogen–oxygen flame. This camera can obtain set of four spectrograph images simultaneously by four channels with interference filters. As a measuring object, the combustion flame of the pre–mixed hydrogen–oxygen gas generated by electrolysis was ...

Observation of Micro Premixed Flames Surrounded by High Temperature Burned Gas Flow

ASME/JSME 2011 8th Thermal Engineering Joint Conference, 2011
Flame structure of micro scale methane-air premixed flames is investigated experimentally. The flame is stabilized even on the burner whose diameter is 0.3 mm when it is with pilot flame. However, shape of the flame formed on the burner whose diameter is less than 1 mm is similar to micro diffusion flame.

Effects of CO2 dilution on turbulent premixed flames at high pressure and high temperature

Proceedings of the Combustion Institute, 2007
Abstract Turbulent premixed flames of mixtures of CH4 and air diluted with CO2 at high pressure and high temperature were experimentally studied to clarify the effects of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), especially the effects of CO2 in EGR gases, on turbulent flame characteristics.

High-temperature, high-pressure burning velocities of expanding turbulent premixed flames and their comparison with Bunsen-type flames

Combustion and Flame, 2016
Abstract This paper reports high-temperature/pressure turbulent burning velocities and their correlation of expanding unity-Lewis-number methane/air turbulent flames, propagating in near-isotropic turbulence in a large dual-chamber, constant-pressure/temperature, fan-stirred 3D cruciform bomb.

Relationship between the smallest scale of flame wrinkles and turbulence characteristics of high-pressure, high-temperature turbulent premixed flames

Proceedings of the Combustion Institute, 2002
The mechanism determining the scale of the smallest flame wrinkles of high-pressure, high-temperatureturbulent premixed flames was investigated. The fractal inner cutoff of OH planar laser-induced fluorescence images, which is the smallest scale of flame wrinkles, was analyzed for burner-stabilized flames in a high-pressure chamber. Precise measurement

Dilution effects of superheated water vapor on turbulent premixed flames at high pressure and high temperature

Proceedings of the Combustion Institute, 2009
Abstract Methane/air turbulent premixed flames diluted with superheated water vapor at high-pressure and high-temperature were experimentally investigated to explore the effects of recycled water vapor on turbulent flame characteristics from the viewpoint of applying high-temperature air combustion (HiTAC) to high-load combustors as well as ...

Burning velocity correlation of methane/air turbulent premixed flames at high pressure and high temperature

Proceedings of the Combustion Institute, 2005
Abstract Turbulent burning velocities for methane/air mixtures at pressures ranging from atmospheric pressure up to 1.0 MPa and mixture temperatures of 300 and 573 K were measured, which covers the typical operating conditions of premixed-type gas-turbine combustors.
