High angular resolution neutron interferometry
The currently largest perfect-crystal neutron interferometer with six beam splitters and two interference loops offers novel applications in neutron interferometry. The two additional lamellas can be used for quantitative measurements of a phase shift due to crystal diffraction in the vicinity of a Bragg condition.

Compact multi-aperture imaging with high angular resolution [PDF]
Previous reports have demonstrated that it is possible to emulate the imaging function of a single conventional lens with an N×N array of identical lenslets to provide an N-fold reduction in imaging-system track length. This approach limits the application to low-resolution imaging.

Angular momentum transport and disk morphology in SPH simulations of galaxy formation [PDF]
We perform controlled N-Body/SPH simulations of disk galaxy formation by cooling a rotating gaseous mass distribution inside equilibrium cuspy spherical and triaxial dark matter halos.

Star formation at high angular resolution [PDF]
The role of the SKA in high resolution observations of the formation of low and high mass stars in the Galaxy is examined. The large collecting area will have a large impact on dynamical studies at high resolution using spectral lines. The SKA will allow dramatic progress in the investigation of the ionised, atomic and molecular phases over a range of ...

Resolution and b value dependent structural connectome in ex vivo mouse brain
Diffusion magnetic resonance imaging has been widely used in both clinical and preclinical studies to characterize tissue microstructure and structural connectivity. The diffusion MRI protocol for the Human Connectome Project (HCP) has been developed and

Very High Angular Resolution Science with the Square Kilometre Array [PDF]
Preliminary specifications for the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) call for 25% of the total collecting area of the dish array to be located at distances greater than 180 km from the core, with a maximum baseline of at least 3000 km.

An Earth-sized Planet around an M5 Dwarf Star at 22 pc
We report on the discovery of an Earth-sized transiting planet ( R _p = 1.015 ± 0.051 R _⊕ ) in a P = 4.02 day orbit around K2-415 (EPIC 211414619), an M5V star at 22 pc.

High-resolution asymptotics for the angular bispectrum of spherical random fields [PDF]
In this paper we study the asymptotic behavior of the angular bispectrum of spherical random fields. Here, the asymptotic theory is developed in the framework of fixed-radius fields, which are observed with increasing resolution as the sample size grows.

A high-resolution dataset of digitally scanned railway ballast (HRSBallast) is presented, consisting of 108 individual, digitised samples. The ballast samples were sourced from both a railway test track section located on a heavy haul coal export line in
