Low-power compact radio galaxies at high angular resolution [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of 8th European VLBI Network Symposium — PoS(8thEVN), 2005
We present sub-arcsecond resolution multi-frequency (8 and 22 GHz) VLA images of five low power compact (LPC) radio sources, and phase referenced VLBA images at 1.6 GHz of their nuclear regions. At the VLA resolution we resolve the structure and identify component positions and flux densities.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Eighteen Exoplanet Host Stars from the NPOI Data Archive

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
During the course of publishing angular diameters from the Navy Precision Optical Interferometer data archive, we found we had data on 17 confirmed exoplanet host stars and 1 exoplanet candidate (HD 20902/ α Per). Here, we update our previously published

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Sub-Airy disk angular resolution with high dynamic range in the near-infrared

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2011
Lunar occultations (LO) are a simple and effective high angular resolution method, with minimum requirements in instrumentation and telescope time. They rely on the analysis of the diffraction fringes created by the lunar limb.

Sensor for the Characterization of 2D Angular Actuators with Picoradian Resolution and Nanoradian Accuracy with Microradian Range

open access: yesSensors, 2020
High precision angular actuators are used for high demanding applications such as laser steering for photolithography. Piezo technology allows developing actuators with a resolution as low as a few nanoradians, with bandwidths as high as several ...

High-resolution x-ray telescopes

open access: yes, 2010
High-energy astrophysics is a relatively young scientific field, made possible by space-borne telescopes. During the half-century history of x-ray astronomy, the sensitivity of focusing x-ray telescopes-through finer angular resolution and increased ...

Laser interference lithography with highly accurate interferometric alignment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
It is shown experimentally that in laser interference lithography, by using a reference grating, respective grating layers can be positioned with high relative accuracy.

High Angular Resolution Observations of Protostellar Disks [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1994
The existence of circumstellar disks around young stellar objects like T Tauri stars is now well accepted. Such disks would have solar system sizes and, at the distance of the nearest star forming cloud, an angular diameter of 0.01 to 1 arcsecond at most, requiring very high angular resolution to be detected.
