A double-sided silicon micro-strip super-module for the ATLAS inner detector upgrade in the high-luminosity LHC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The ATLAS experiment is a general purpose detector aiming to fully exploit the discovery potential of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. It is foreseen that after several years of successful data-taking, the LHC physics programme will be extended ...

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Rapid design of LCC current-output resonant converters with reduced electrical stresses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The paper presents and validates a straightforward design methodology for realising LCC current-output resonant converters, with the aim of reducing tank currents, and hence, electrical stresses on resonant components.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Memory systems for signal generating photoelectric image detectors [PDF]

open access: yes
Digital systems are discussed which have the capacity to handle the large amounts of information contained in a typical image. It was used with a high gain pulse counting television camera tube, with a silicon target image detector and an analog to ...

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

A Novel Boost Conversion with High Voltage Ratio

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
When the traditional Boost converter duty cycle exceeds a certain value, the output voltage is not only increased, but will be reduced. Therefore, a new Boost converter with intermediate tap is proposed.

Analysis of an On-Line Stability Monitoring Approach for DC Microgrid Power Converters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
An online approach to evaluate and monitor the stability margins of dc microgrid power converters is presented in this paper. The discussed online stability monitoring technique is based on the Middlebrook's loop-gain measurement technique, adapted to ...

High-efficiency bidirectional dc–dc converter with high-voltage gain

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2012
The aim of this study is to develop a high-efficiency bidirectional dc-dc converter for a power storage system. The proposed converter can boost the voltage of an energy-storage module (e.g. battery) to a high-voltage-side dc bus for the load demand. When the high-voltage-side dc bus has excess energy, this energy-storage module can be charged by the ...
