The effects of hydrostatic pressure on grain refinement and deformation behaviors of Mg–13Gd–4Y–2Zn–0.5Zr alloy were investigated. With the increase of hydrostatic pressure, the equivalent stress and forming load increase, and stress triaxiality also ...

Established studies proved that hydrostatic pressure had multiple effects on the biological behavior of the intervertebral disc (IVD). However, the conclusions of the previous studies were inconsistent, due to the difference in hydrostatic loading ...

Accelerated degradation of polyetheretherketone and its composites in the deep sea [PDF]
The performance of polymer composites in seawater, under high hydrostatic pressure (typically few tens of MPa), for simulating exposures at great depths in seas and oceans, has been little studied.

In-situ high-pressure powder X-ray diffraction study of α -zirconium phosphate [PDF]
The high-pressure structural chemistry of -zirconium phosphate, -Zr(HPO4) 2H2O, was studied using in-situ high-pressure diffraction and synchrotron radiation.

Multi-Pulsed High Hydrostatic Pressure Treatment of Foods
Multi-pulsed high hydrostatic pressure (mpHHP) treatment of foods has been investigated for more than two decades. It was reported that the mpHHP treatment, with few exceptions, is more effective than the classical or single-pulsed HHP (spHHP) treatment ...

Hemolysis Under High Hydrostatic Pressure
SummaryHydrostatic pressures up to 41 atm had no significant immediate effect on the percentage of hemolysis of washed red cells when they were diluted with an equal volume of water. After prolonged exposures to pressures up to 540 atm there was a significant increase in hemolysis due to pressure which was 2-3 times greater at 6° than at 25°.

In-Situ Synchrotron Profile Analysis after High-Pressure Torsion Deformation
The presence of hydrostatic pressure is a general crucial characteristic of severe plastic deformation methods for reaching high strains and for introducing large quantities of lattice defects, which are necessary to establish new grain boundaries ...

An efficient partial-differential-equation-based method to compute pressure boundary conditions in regional geodynamic models [PDF]
Modelling the pressure in the Earth's interior is a common problem in Earth sciences. In this study we propose a method based on the conservation of the momentum of a fluid by using a hydrostatic scenario or a uniformly moving fluid to approximate the ...

Non-hydrostatic stresses have a unique influence on materials. To understand the effect of non-hydrostatic stress on NaCl, one of the most widely used pressure calibrant in high-pressure experiments, the lattice constants, density, elastic modulus, Young’
