Effect of Atomic Layer Deposition of Ultra‐Thin Oxide on Reactivity and Durability of Perovskite Oxygen Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This table of contents illustrates that the mechanism for mitigating Sr segregation depends strongly on the chemistry of the coating layer. HfO2 electrostatically stabilizes the surface by lowering the surface oxygen vacancies, which serve as the driving force for Sr migration. On the other hand, Al2O3 and Fe2O3 react with segregated Sr to form Sr‐Al‐O

XRISM Observations of Accretion Disk Corona in Cyg X-2

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present the high-resolution X-ray spectrum of the Z-source Cygnus X-2, obtained with the X-Ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission (XRISM). The observations have enabled a precise characterization of the Fe–K emission lines from the accretion disk corona

Thirty New Low-Mass Spectroscopic Binaries

open access: yes, 2010
As part of our search for young M dwarfs within 25 pc, we acquired high-resolution spectra of 185 low-mass stars compiled by the NStars project that have strong X-ray emission.

High energy behaviour of Neutron Star Low Mass X-ray binary systems seen by INTEGRAL [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of The Extreme sky: Sampling the Universe above 10 keV — PoS(extremesky2009), 2010
We report on the study of the high energy emission of Neutron Stars in Low Mass X-ray Binary systems performed with INTEGRAL. The X and Gamma behaviour of a selected sample of atoll sources has been monitored through the study of light curves in different energy bands, the construction of hardness-intesity diagrams, and extra ction of spectra to ...

Triply‐Twinned Metamaterials: Unraveling the Mechanics and Failure Pathways Through High‐Resolution XCT

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Triply‐twinned architected lattices transform deformation from bending to stretching of struts, delivering up to threefold increases in stiffness and strength across polymeric and metallic systems. High‐resolution synchrotron XCT and image‐based simulations reveal how meta‐grain architecture, defects, and AM build orientation govern failure pathways ...

Ion‐Reconfigurable “N”‐Shaped Antiambipolar Behavior in Organic Electrochemical Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A unique N‐shaped negative differential transconductance (NDT) characteristics is demonstrated in single‐polymer organic electrochemical transistors through a sequential doping–redox–doping process driven by iodide ions. This redox‐driven mechanism enables low‐voltage, ion‐controlled reconfigurability and tunable current modulation, allowing seamless ...

The Wolf-Rayet binaries of the nitrogen sequence in the Large Magellanic Cloud: spectroscopy, orbital analysis, formation, and evolution

open access: yes, 2019
Massive Wolf-Rayet (WR) stars dominate the radiative and mechanical energy budget of galaxies and probe a critical phase in the evolution of massive stars prior to core-collapse.

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

The High-mass X-Ray Binary Luminosity Functions of Dwarf Galaxies

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Drawing from the Chandra archive and using a carefully selected set of nearby dwarf galaxies, we present a calibrated high-mass X-ray binary (HMXB) luminosity function in the low-mass galaxy regime and search for an already hinted at dependence on ...

Physical Environment of Accreting Neutron Stars

open access: yesAdvances in Astronomy, 2016
Neutron stars (NSs) powered by accretion, which are known as accretion-powered NSs, always are located in binary systems and manifest themselves as X-ray sources. Physical processes taking place during the accretion of material from their companions form
