High-resolution spectroscopy in the field
SPIE Proceedings, 1993This paper gives an review, with 8 refs., of the activities on IR Fourier Transform Spectroscopy at the TNO-Physics and Electronics Lab. Spectra are shown for aircraft plume emission and transmission through wildfire smoke and missile plume smoke. These examples demonstrate the possibilities of these techniques to identify gases and to det.

Topical Meeting on Laser Techniques for Extreme Ultraviolet Spectroscopy, 1982
High resolution spectroscopy in the vacuum ultraviolet region has, until recently, been limited to work with long focal length grating spectrographs. The best resolution with state-of-the-art instrumentation is approximately 250,000, but the photographic method provides simultaneous measurement of ≈ 3 × 104 data points with modest exposure times.

High Resolution Spectroscopy with CSHELL
Experimental Astronomy, 1994CSHELL, the NASA Infrared Telescope Facility Cryogenic Echelle Spectrograph was designed to fill a need for high sensitivity, high resolution, long slit near-infrared spectroscopy. Scientific programs in the areas of comets, planetary atmospheres, young stellar objects, the interstellar medium, and galactic dynamics have been pursued with CSHELL and ...

High Resolution Infrared Spectroscopy
2001Chemistry at the molecular scale played a major role in recent exciting scientific developments such as computing the architecture of molecules, watching atoms dance, and preventing the crises of atmospheric chemistry. The activities of the ULB-infrared spectroscopy research group is aimed at developing high-resolution type instrumental and ...

J Michael Hollas 1982 Kent: Butterworths xv + 638 pp price £45 To write a book which covers all aspects of such a vast subject as high resolution spectroscopy is a daunting task, but one which Michael Hollas has tackled with considerable success. The author has succeeded in presenting a comprehensive description of the major branches of gas, or vapour ...

High Resolution Feshbach Spectroscopy of Cesium
Physical Review Letters, 2000We measure high-resolution Feshbach resonance spectra for ultracold cesium atoms colliding in different hyperfine and magnetic sublevels. More than 25 resonances are observed for magnetic fields up to 230 G and their positions are measured with an accuracy down to 0.03 G.

High-resolution optical multiplex spectroscopy
Annual Meeting Optical Society of America, 1987We have developed a frequency-multiplex laser spectrometer using the concept of stochastic excitation to provide an effective optical excitation bandwidth of >200 MHz and an inherent spectral resolution of a few kilohertz. A frequency-stabilized Ar+ laser is phase-modulated by a pseudorandom binary sequence (PRBS) running at a clock frequency of 200

Chemistry International, 2014
Classical high-resolution spectroscopy had been of interest for the sake of studies related to isotope shifts and hyperfine interactions and for resolving complex spectra associated with heavy elements like lanthanides and actinides. In this chapter, some of the history of classical high-resolution spectroscopy has been described.

High Resolution Spectroscopy of Rotating Planets
Applied Optics, 1971A method for the high resolution spectroscopy of rotating planets is discussed which in principle (1) uses all the light from the planet, (2) is not limited in its resolution by the rotation of the planet, (3) can produce spectra in which the only sharp lines present must be of planetary origin, (4) retains spatial resolution in latitude, and (5) uses ...
