Water vapor is an important species in the earths atmosphere. It plays a major role in many atmospheric processes including weather, climate and atmospheric photochemistry. The distribution of water vapor in the atmosphere is highly variable and if we are to relate its variability to atmospheric effects, its spatial and temporal variability must be ...

Microresonator array for high-resolution spectroscopy
Optics Letters, 2007We investigated the properties of an array of spherical microresonators used as a miniaturized high-resolution spectroscopic device. Sixteen spherical microspheres made from polymethyl methacrylate were placed on a microscope slide serving as an optical wave guide.

Handbook of High‐resolution Spectroscopy
2011The field of High-Resolution Spectroscopy has been considerably extended and even redefined in some areas. Combining the knowledge of spectroscopy, laser technology, chemical computation, and experiments, Handbook of High-Resolution Spectroscopy provides a comprehensive survey of the whole field as it presents itself today, with emphasis on the recent ...

High-resolution optical spectroscopy of atomic oxygen
Physical Review A, 1988We report sub-Doppler laser spectroscopy of atomic oxygen. The atom is detected as a trace in a noble-gas radio-frequency discharge by means of optogalvanic effect. The fine structure of the $2{p}^{3}3p^{5}P_{1,2,3}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}2{p}^{3}(4{S}^{0})4d^{5}D_{4,3,2,1,0}$ transitions is fully resolved and preliminary values for the upper level ...

High Harmonic Frequency Combs for High Resolution Spectroscopy
Physical Review Letters, 2008We generated a series of harmonics in a xenon gas jet inside a cavity seeded by pulses from a Ti:sapphire mode-locked laser with a repetition rate of 10.8 MHz. Harmonics up to 19th order at 43 nm were observed with plateau harmonics at the microW power level.

High Resolution Coherent 2D Spectroscopy
The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2010The purpose of this article is to describe recent progress on the use of coherent two-dimensional spectroscopy for investigating the electronic spectroscopy of gas phase molecules. Unlike conventional high resolution spectra where peaks are distributed along a single axis, high resolution coherent 2D spectra reveal informative patterns along two ...

High-resolution FIR and IR spectroscopy of CH3OH
Infrared Physics, 1984Abstract Currently we are performing systematic investigations of the FTS of CH 3 OH in the regions 8–200 and 950–1100 cm −1 . Here we discuss our results for the absorption lines belonging to A symmetry between 8 and 80 cm −1 . A Taylor expansion in J ( J + 1) for the energy levels is used, and the expansion coefficients for v = 0, n = 0, K =
