Improving Speed Characteristics of High-Torque-Density Motors for Physical Human–Robot Interaction Using an Independent Three-Phase Winding Structure

open access: yesActuators
Recently, due to the decrease in labor force, increase in labor costs, and the desire for improved quality of life, research on robots has been actively conducted to address these issues.

Critical State Behaviour in a Low Dimensional Metal Induced by Strong Magnetic Fields

open access: yes, 2000
We present the results of magnetotransport and magnetic torque measurements on the alpha-(BEDT-TTF)2KHg(SCN)4 charge-transfer salt within the high magnetic field phase, in magnetic fields extending to 33 T and temperatures as low as 27 mK. While the high

A High Torque Density Dual-Stator Flux-Reversal-Machine with Multiple Poles Halbach Excitation on Outer Stator

open access: yesActuators
This paper proposes a high torque density dual-stator flux-reversal-machine with multiple poles Halbach excitation (MPHE-DSFRM), which uses two pole pairs’ numbers (PPNs) of PM excitation on one outer stator tooth, and one PPN of PM excitation on one ...

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Spin wave assisted current induced magnetic domain wall motion

open access: yes, 2010
The interaction between the propagating spin waves and the current driven motion of a transverse domain wall in magnetic nanowires is studied by micromagnetic simulations.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Influence of unequal stator tooth width on the performance of outer-rotor permanent magnet machines

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2020
Outer-rotor permanent magnet machines for low-speed and high-torque applications have been used due to their high moment of inertia and torque density.

A Novel Single-Turn Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine for Electric Aircraft

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
This paper proposes a novel multi-phase single-turn permanent magnet synchronous motor (MSPMSM) to meet the stringent requirements of electric aircraft, such as high power density, high torque, and low mass and volume. The MSPMSM features a unique single-

A novel HTS-PM vernier motor for direct-drive propulsion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, a novel high-temperature superconductor (HTS) permanent magnet (PM) vernier motor is proposed for direct-drive propulsion, which can directly offer the low-speed high-torque capability and the high-speed rotating field design to eliminate ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.
