Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

An Efficient One-Database-Scan Approach to Mining High Utility Patterns with Multiple Minimum Utility Thresholds in the Incremental Product Database

open access: yes, 2020
Mining high utility pattern mining has played a decisive role in the data mining field in these decades, since it takes the distinct characteristics of each item such as non-binary quantity and the utility value into consideration.

Candidate list maintenance in high utility sequential pattern mining

open access: yes, 2018
High utility sequential pattern mining (HUSPM) lends the aspect of item value or importance to sequential pattern mining by identifying patterns that comprise a significant level of utility in a database.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

High-Utility Pattern Mining [electronic resource] : Theory, Algorithms and Applications /

open access: yes
This book presents an overview of techniques for discovering high-utility patterns (patterns with a high importance) in data. It introduces the main types of high-utility patterns, as well as the theory and core algorithms for high-utility pattern mining,

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Online Fusion of Across-Store High Utility Patterns

open access: yes, 2014
Utility mining, which takes the quantities and profits of items in a set of transactions into consideration, has become an emerging research topic due to its wide applications.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Representing traffic congestions on moving objects trajectories

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2015
The discovery of moving objects trajectory patterns representing a high traffic density have been covered on different works using diverse approaches. These models are useful for the areas of transportation planning, traffic monitoring and advertising on
