Notes on the measurement of high voltage [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1916
A briet account is given of some experiments made to determine mine the relative accuracy of certain methods used in measuring high voltages. The methods comprise the use of a tertiary (or voltmeter) coil in the high-tension transformer, the direct measurement of voltage by a crest voltage meter and the derivation of the high-tension pressure from the ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Two-Sheath Loop Short Circuit Defects Detection in High-Voltage Cable Systems Using Sheath Current Phasors

open access: yes
The joint is the weak point of HV (high voltage) cable insulation systems; creep discharge between insulation layers of the cable joint, due to moisture intrusion, is one of the main defects leading to single-phase grounding.

A federal learning and PointCNN‐based approach to substation site safety control

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering
Aiming at the problem of low detection accuracy due to insufficient feature extraction of point cloud information in the 3D scene of substation by the existing methods, this article proposes a safety control method based on joint learning and PointCNN ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Research on Fault Identification of Hybrid Multi-Feed High-Voltage Direct Current System Based on Line Commutated Converter and Voltage Source Converter

open access: yes
With the rapid development of voltage source converter (VSC) and line commutated converter (LCC) technology and the relative concentration of power and load, the inverter station of the flexible DC system is fed into the same AC bus with the conventional

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Investigation into voltage and process variation-aware manufacturing test

open access: yes, 2009
Increasing integration and complexity in IC design provides challenges for manufacturing testing. This thesis studies how process and supply voltage variation influence defect behaviour to determine the impact on manufacturing test cost and quality.
