Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Efficiency Optimization by Considering the High Voltage Flyback Transformer Parasitics using an Automatic Winding Layout Technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper presents an efficiency optimization approach for a high voltage bidirectional flyback dc-dc converter. The main goal is to optimize the converter for driving a capacitive actuator, which must be charged and discharged from 0 V to2.5 kV dc and ...

Leakage Inductance Reduction Using the Interleaved Winding Technique in High-Frequency Toroidal Transformers

open access: yesInternational Journal of Technology
High leakage inductance in transformers is the main cause of excessive voltage spikes and ringing waveforms in dc-dc converters. Therefore, reducing leakage inductance is important in the design of power electronic devices.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Electromagnetic Characterization and Parameter Calculation of the Superconducting Ultra-high Voltage Synchronous Condenser

open access: yesJournal of Harbin University of Science and Technology
The superconducting ultra-high voltage synchronous condenser adopts high-voltage cable winding as stator winding, which can be directly connected to the power grid without a step-up transformer, and the special structure of its stator with non-magnetic ...

High-performance voltage control scheme for wind park integration

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, 2007
The design and implementation of a new control scheme for reactive power compensation and voltage regulation in the transmission system, as provided and controlled by a wind park is presented. It proposes an optimal tracking secondary voltage control scheme applied to doubly fed induction generator-based wind generators.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
