Solutions of a System of Two Higher-Order Difference Equations in Terms of Lucas Sequence
In this paper we give some theoretical explanations related to the representation for the general solution of the system of the higher-order rational difference equations $$ x_{n+1} = \frac{5 y_{n-k}-5}{y_{n-k}}, \qquad y_{n+1} = \frac{5 x_{n-k}-5}{x_{

Effects of Higher Order Retarded Gravity
In a recent paper, we have a shown that the flattening of galactic rotation curves can be explained by retardation. However, this will rely on a temporal change of galactic mass.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Prediction of the higher-order terms based on Borel resummation with conformal mapping
In this paper we discuss the method of the resummation of the asymptotic series suggested by Kazakov et al. (1978) and predictions of the higher order terms based on this approach.

Simplex and Polygon Equations [PDF]
It is shown that higher Bruhat orders admit a decomposition into a higher Tamari order, the corresponding dual Tamari order, and a "mixed order." We describe simplex equations (including the Yang-Baxter equation) as realizations of higher Bruhat orders ...

Higher-order term indexing using substitution trees [PDF]
We present a higher-order term indexing strategy based on substitution trees for simply typed lambda-terms. There are mainly two problems in adapting first-order indexing techniques. First, many operations used in building an efficient term index and retrieving a set of candidate terms from a large collection are undecidable in general for higher-order

Quantum Magnetism of the Iron Core in Ferritin Proteins—A Re-Evaluation of the Giant-Spin Model
The electron–electron, or zero-field interaction (ZFI) in the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) of high-spin transition ions in metalloproteins and coordination complexes, is commonly described by a simple spin Hamiltonian that is second-order in the

We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Multi-parameter crack tip stress state description for estimation of fracture process zone extent in silicate composite WST specimens [PDF]
For wedge splitting test specimens, the stress and displacement fields both in the vicinity and also in larger distance from the crack tip are investigated by means of numerical methods. Several variants of boundary conditions were modeled.
