Engineered Living Systems With Self‐Organizing Neural Networks: From Anatomy to Behavior and Gene Expression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ectodermal tissue excised from Xenopus embryos self‐organizes into a three‐dimensional mucociliary organoid. Here, we generate a neural variant, termed neurobot, by implanting neural precursor cells. Neurobots develop mature neurons, adopt distinct morphologies, exhibit more complex motility, and respond differentially to neuroactive compounds. Imaging

Higher-Order Dynamic Mode Decomposition to Identify Harmonics in Power Systems

open access: yesEnergies
The proliferation of renewable energy sources and distributed generation systems interfaced to the grid by power electronics systems is forcing us to better understand the issues arising due to the quality of electrical signals generated through these ...

Harmonization and networking in higher education

open access: yes, 2013
This report is the outcome from joint efforts of SEAMEO RIHED and the Asian Development Bank in looking for new strategies to facilitate harmonisation of regional higher education. With view to the upcoming setting of the ASEAN Community and the increasing pressures brought on most societies by globalization and the rapid regional integration ...

Causal Prediction of TP53 Variant Pathogenicity Using a Perturbation‐Informed Protein Language Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A TP53‐specific predictor, CaVepP53, is developed by fine‐tuning ESMC on experimentally validated variants, quantifying pathogenicity via Euclidean distances. It outperforms general‐purpose models and extends to five cancer genes, enabling interpretable variant classification for precision medicine.

Operating Properties of the Inductive Current Transformer and Evaluation of Requirements for Its Compliance with the IEC 61869-1 WB2 Class Extension for Frequency up to 20 kHz

open access: yesEnergies
Nanocrystalline material provides an opportunity to improve the wideband performance of inductive current transformers and enables the possibility of ensuring their transformation accuracy for distorted and sinusoidal current from 50 Hz up to 20 kHz ...

Structural Eigenmodes of the Brain to Improve the Source Localization of EEG: Application to Epileptiform Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Geometry and connectivity are complementary structures, which have demonstrated their ability to represent the brain's functional activity. This study evaluates geometric and connectome eigenmodes as biologically informed constraints for EEG source localization.

On the higher approximations of the K-harmonics method

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 1978
Exact formulas for the calculation of two-body central interactions in the K-harmonics method are derived. These formulas hold for any approximations and account for diagonal and off-diagonal matrix elements as well.

Propagation of high amplitude higher order sounds in slightly soft rectangular ducts, carrying mean flow [PDF]

open access: yes
The resonance expansion method, developed to study the propagation of sound in rigid rectangular ducts is applied to the case of slightly soft ducts. Expressions for the generation and decay of various harmonics are obtained.
