Bayesian Analysis of Unit Log-Logistic Distribution Using Non-Informative Priors

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
The unit log-logistic distribution is a suitable choice for modeling data enclosed within the unit interval. In this paper, estimating the parameters of the unit-log-logistic distribution is performed through a Bayesian approach with non-informative ...

Likelihood-free inference of experimental Neutrino Oscillations using Neural Spline Flows

open access: yes, 2020
In machine learning, likelihood-free inference refers to the task of performing an analysis driven by data instead of an analytical expression. We discuss the application of Neural Spline Flows, a neural density estimation algorithm, to the likelihood ...

High posterior density ellipsoids of quantum states [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Regions of quantum states generalize the classical notion of error bars. High posterior density (HPD) credible regions are the most powerful of region estimators. However, they are intractably hard to construct in general.

Evidence and Credibility: Full Bayesian Significance Test for Precise Hypotheses

open access: yesEntropy, 1999
: A Bayesian measure of evidence for precise hypotheses is presented. The intention is to give a Bayesian alternative to significance tests or, equivalently, to p-values. In fact, a set is defined in the parameter space and the posterior probability, its

Stereological analysis of vascular network of subcortical auditory centers

open access: yesBiomedicinska istraživanja, 2022
Introduction. Subcortical auditory centers have several sources of blood supply. Cochlear nuclei are vascularized by the anterior inferior cerebellar artery.

Quantifying Uncertainty in High Dimensional Inverse Problems by Convex Optimisation

open access: yes, 2019
Inverse problems play a key role in modern image/signal processing methods. However, since they are generally ill-conditioned or ill-posed due to lack of observations, their solutions may have significant intrinsic uncertainty.

Personalized Selumetinib Dosing in Pediatric Neurofibromatosis Type 1: Insights From a Pilot Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate selumetinib exposure using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in pediatric patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and plexiform neurofibromas (PN), assess interpatient pharmacokinetic variability, and explore the relationship between drug exposure, clinical response, and adverse effects.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
