Broad Histogram Relation Is Exact

open access: yes, 1998
The Broad Histogram is a method designed to calculate the energy degeneracy g(E) from microcanonical averages of certain macroscopic quantities Nup and Ndn. These particular quantities are defined within the method, and their averages must be measured at

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Heuristic algorithm for 1D and 2D unfolding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A very simple heuristic approach to the unfolding problem will be described. An iterative algorithm starts with an empty histogram and every iteration aims to add one entry to this histogram.

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Histogram affine invariants extraction method based on two-scale auto-convolution

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2012
A two-scale auto-convolution histogram affine invariant was proposed.A two-scale auto-convolution transformation was established based on the new image generated by two-dimensional linear transform of image coordinates. Then the value of the new image ...

Microcanonical Approach to the Simulation of First-Order Phase Transitions

open access: yes, 2006
A generalization of the microcanonical ensemble suggests a simple strategy for the simulation of first order phase transitions. At variance with flat-histogram methods, there is no iterative parameters optimization, nor long waits for tunneling between ...
