SUPERVISED AUTOMATIC HISTOGRAM CLUSTERING AND WATERSHED SEGMENTATION. APPLICATION TO MICROSCOPIC MEDICAL COLOR IMAGES

open access: yesImage Analysis and Stereology, 2011
In this paper, an approach to the segmentation of microscopic color images is addressed, and applied to medical images. The approach combines a clustering method and a region growing method.

HISTOGRAM EXPANSION-A TECHNIQUE OF HISTOGRAM EQULIZATION

open access: yesInternational Journal of Research in Engineering and Technology, 2013
In this paper I have described histogram expansion. Histogram expansion is a technique of histogram equalization. In this I have described three different techniques of expansion namely dynamic range expansion, linear contrast expansion and symmetric range expansion. Each of these has their specific uses and advantages.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

A New Fast Histogram Matching Algorithm for Laser Scan Data

open access: yes, 2008
This paper presents a new fast histogram matching algorithm for tracking the position and orientation of robots without the help of any odometers. Histogram avoids extracting geometrical primitives from the sensor data, acts independently from odometers,

Histogram affine invariants extraction method based on two-scale auto-convolution

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2012
A two-scale auto-convolution histogram affine invariant was proposed.A two-scale auto-convolution transformation was established based on the new image generated by two-dimensional linear transform of image coordinates. Then the value of the new image ...

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Identification of functional murine mitochondrial formyl peptides and their effects on myeloid‐derived suppressor cell generation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We first identified functional murine mitochondrial N‐formyl peptides (MT‐FPs) and investigated their effects on the in vitro myeloid‐derived suppressor cell (MDSC) generation from bone marrow cells. We demonstrated that MT‐FPs acted directly on bone marrow cells to promote MDSC generation and modulated the polymorphonuclear (PMN)‐MDSC/monocyte (M ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Feasibility of histogram analysis of susceptibility-weighted MRI for staging of liver fibrosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
PURPOSE:We aimed to evaluate whether histogram analysis of susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) could quantify liver fibrosis grade in patients with chronic liver disease (CLD).METHODS:Fifty-three patients with CLD who underwent multi-echo SWI (TEs of 2.
